Neat thanks! Would that new version show up as an update, or would it only be for new jeeps?
The update will be for all vehicles with UConnect 5 which are the ones with the 12.3” screen. It probably will carry forward until 2026/27, which is when we anticipate the required parts to be ready for model refresh. Generally, a model gets a refresh after 3 years or so, incorporating adjustments that aren’t manufacturing fixes.

A lot of what’s coming is trickle down from the premium systems like in the Grand Wagoneer, Charger/Challenger and EVs.

For the record, if you end up in a situation where the AC isn't coming on because of a software update, try hitting "max a/c". That should turn AC on.
When it happened to me there was no air conditioning at all, meaning there was no "max a/c" to hit.

Well, this AM seat memory is gone and the numbers are back. Seems it was tricking me. Tried to take a picture.

Update: seat memory options are now all gone and the numbers ar back. Silly. Seems it was some transient thing and it figured itself out (though I was excited about seat memory).

Good news and bad news. First, it seems it added seat memory to the driver profile, so yay?

That said, I’m usually pretty cool about software updates, but I’m on a road trip and when I came out from the rest stop my jeep was updating. I didn’t approve it, it just was. Had to wait 20m.

Now the temperature indicators are gone, replaced with some red/blue slider, the heater buttons to change the temp don’t appear to be doing anything, it’s no longer giving me an outdoor temperature, and it feels super buggy and slow.

It’s UConnect 5. Build ID FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD.

They took the numbers and this dumb graphic doesn’t change. It’s always set to blue. No visual changes when buttons are pressed.

After the software update it always seems wonky. If you have this again and temp, etc. disappear, just hold the power/volume button down for 10-15 seconds. This will do a reset and everything should come back appropriately. FYI, I was also on a road trip. They really do need to give an option within a few days to do the update. Other manufacturers do that, not sure why Jeep can't.

Mine was the same error, -5.
This morning I got a message telling me that the update failed - again. The number this time was -4. I wonder if the next failure will be -3, and how many times it will fail before it tells me to go see the dealer. I do have WIFI updates enabled and there is a strong WIFI connection to the vehicle when it is in my garage or driveway. Maybe I should turn off the WIFI for updates??? I also have a NOCO GENIUS 10 battery charger/tender hooked up so any updates will not drain the batteries.

Sorry to hear in the OP's first post that the memory seat options are gone. Maybe we will get them eventually, as some of the current 2024 model year literature for both the Wrangler & Gladiator still says memory seat functionality is part of the power seat option. It's pretty stupid to have power seats with no memory recall functionality.

Does anyone know what this update does? I am still at FCA-MY24.U29.44-PROD, and the new one is FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD

Some of the vehicles you mentioned have a memory seat button on the driver door, whereas 2024 Wranglers and Gladiators with the power seats do not. Will memory seats just be software controlled via the 12.3 screen, or does the lack of the buttons on the driver door mean that memory seats is not coming to the 2024 's with power seats? Thanks for the info.

I don’t know 100% but I‘m pretty sure seats without the physical button will not get a software memory setting on the screen. They’re two different seats with different hardware, mainly a module containing sensors that know where the seats are.
I don’t think the 24 seats have the hardware to talk to the UConnect, I’ll check if I get the opportunity. It may have been wrapped into the heated seat setup, which could make sense if someone was actually planning ahead in Design Engineering.

Keep in mind, I’m talking overall Stellantis option packages and how they impact what we put in each vehicle. The plug going to the seat may have a memory capability available but the plug going from the buttonless seat does not depending on the crazy package differences offered.
Every 12.3” has the same software, depending on the packages you got with your vehicle different options are ’turned on’. This is done by the UConnect system at specific events like mainly First Factory Start, after you disconnect the battery, forced reboot, etc. There’s a memory in the UConnect hardware that keeps a list of what’s installed that remains while there is power available and for a period of time without.

That there is only one software for the 12.3 system with selections of what is turned on based on the way the vehicle was optioned makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for the education. Thanks for your input here on the forum, it is very informative.

I wonder if the hardware sensors/modules were not available even though from the sales literature it looks as if the memory feature was originally supposed to be part of the power seat option on 2024 Wranglers and Gladiators?

If Stellantis decides to introduce the memory feature to the power seat option in the future, IF leadership is smart (big if). they will introduce a retrofit kit for 2024 people stuck with power seats without a memory feature. Of course a dealer trip to turn on the right sales code would be required unless Tazer or JScan hacks it. Even my long gone 2011 & 2014 F-150's had memory seats, so does my 2019 Z06 Corvette, and so does my wife's car. It's kind of sad when you think about it that a technology as old as memory seating can't be included on vehicles that have power seats in the price range for those with the Rubicon X package (and I guess the 392 package as well?). I get that the water submersion issue was a factor in Wrangler and Gladiator being late to the power seating capability.

To tell the truth, I'd rather have the manual seats since the rubicon X package did not come with the memory feature. The power seats are nice, but they take too long to reset when another driver changes the settings. If there was a memory setting this would not be an issue. I have to wonder what Stellantis leadership was thinking when they made that stupid decision to not include memory with the power seats. With the manual seats, it takes only a few seconds to get them into position if they were changed by another driver. No worries about hosing out the interior or water submersion with the manual seats, either.

Yeah the power seats don’t add much w/o the memory setting for multiple drivers. I’ve already had one of the buttons stop working and had to have it in to replace (which, if you can believe it, they had THAT SPECIFIC PART in stock and I didn’t have to bring it back).

My assumption (and this thread seems to confirm it) was that they use the same bundle for all of their vehicles, and it selectively makes things available. For half a day, I also had “rear climate control” options, but it was all greyed out. That’s seems to be gone now too.

It seems fairly straightforward to just never display those options which are irrelevant.

I also got that yesterday morning. No failure notifications this Monday morning, it is still on FCA-MY24.U29.44-PROD. The new version is FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD, which failed to load twice on my vehicle. On Saturday it showed Uconnect Error Code : -5, then Sunday morning it showed Unconnect Error Code: -4. I was expecting to see Uconnect Error Code : -3 this morning but I guess it gave up after the first two attempts. I have no idea what the differences are, but my older version works fine, off road pages are all there, temp controls and comfort settings all work.

The Uconnect website tells me that there are no updates for my VIN and that I have the latest version installed. As I recall, the old Uconnect site used to tell me that about my 2018 JLUR even when I knew it was behind on updates.

Does anyone know if the failure of the headunit to do OTA updates is a warranty item? The radio head unit is not working as it should since all the OTA updates fail. It's not worth having the dealer do the update if I have to pay to have it done.

Another thread here on this update here: (maybe mods will merge them?)

This update happened yesterday for us. We also have the weird temp icon, and the system no longer recognizes our iPod touch. It will play the music but sees it as a random USB device and does not allow any controls through the system. I suspect we are the only people still using this older music technology, so perhaps others will not be experiencing the same. Also, on the sources page, there is a message with the buttons “Hide/Show Media Source Shortcuts. Press and hold source to drag to the left”. We choose the “Hide” option, which does not hide. As mentioned, We hope the several cold starts will clear this up. Does anyone else have that message on the sources page that will not disappear?

Update: doing a soft restart did fix the LO icon instead of the set cabin temperature, and also did turn the Max AC off.
