Update: seat memory options are now all gone and the numbers ar back. Silly. Seems it was some transient thing and it figured itself out (though I was excited about seat memory).

Good news and bad news. First, it seems it added seat memory to the driver profile, so yay?

That said, I’m usually pretty cool about software updates, but I’m on a road trip and when I came out from the rest stop my jeep was updating. I didn’t approve it, it just was. Had to wait 20m.

Now the temperature indicators are gone, replaced with some red/blue slider, the heater buttons to change the temp don’t appear to be doing anything, it’s no longer giving me an outdoor temperature, and it feels super buggy and slow.

It’s UConnect 5. Build ID FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD.

They took the numbers and this dumb graphic doesn’t change. It’s always set to blue. No visual changes when buttons are pressed.

This makes me kind of glad that my Uconnect 5 update failed this morning. I am certainly not going to spend $100 plus to have the dealer install it.

Based on the title, I was really hoping the update included the ability to save up to 33 seat positions/profiles.

Uconnect tends to forget that it has air conditioning for about a day after losing power. That happened to me last week when my 8.4 died until I reseated lots of fuses.

It's pretty screwed up that a software update would apparently do the same.

Where can I pay for the Uconnect team to map the power button to play/pause. Or the mute button, or the screen off button, or the button behind the steering wheel. Or any physical button in the car, its crazy!

I’ve wanted the seat memory, but the nonsense with the climate control? What the hell is that!?

Though I can’t actually figure out how this seat stuff works. It says “seat memory”, but… how!?

Mine got the update last night. Had the same issue, but temps are back to how it was. I didn't see any memory seat option. Where do you see this?

So, since I have manual seats, I don't need this update?

Updates may take a couple cold starts for the complete package to install. That said, there should be an update incoming that makes the process much clearer. No, you can’t opt out.

The next iteration ‘should’ be better, it’s a ground up rewrite not a cut and paste like 5. I mentioned in another thread about better battery monitoring, that along with a new Off-road package is in the works.

For the record, if you end up in a situation where the AC isn't coming on because of a software update, try hitting "max a/c". That should turn AC on.

It’s in the profile settings. Also, if I go to switch profiles, it has the number “bank” that each profile is associated with. But switching profiles does nothing. There’s also a check box to move the seat to make it easier to get out. I’ll take a picture of it tomorrow. It looks like it’s saving something, but I can’t figure out how to recall it.

Neat thanks! Would that new version show up as an update, or would it only be for new jeeps?
