Asked them to cancel my order (and they did). As much as I respect the company and its products, I have no interest in providing them an interest-free loan for a few weeks (my card was charged immediately).

Maybe I'll just wait until ExtremeTerrain/Quadratec/Northridge stocks it. I've always had negative experiences ordering from manufacturers directly (even respected ones).

I bought it and added the diamond plated vinyl kit for the deck. Summer is here so it will be nice to go out after work and not worry about my stuff getting stolen. Perfect step stool for my kids to get up on the Jammock too!

I just ordered the deck as well as the vinyl kit and adhesive. I contempleted waiting until they were 'really' in stock, but figured that with all the delays we've seen on the new JL parts from all manufacturers, at least I'll be in the 'first batch' when they do start shipping.

Just an FYI ...

I exchanged emails with Brian at Tuffy and he said the JL products, they currently have listed on their website, will be available after the next production run - June 15th-22nd.

From his email I am under the impression that the marketing folks at Tuffy jumped the gun and advertised, not realizing how much demand there was for JL products. Brian said to get your order in now and you will be first in line once the next production cycle completes.

I will be purchasing the Tuffy Security Console Insert when it becomes available in mid June.

This is probably a dumb question - but as I read it, it's designed to provide locked storage, for example if you leave your top off. The issue is, if you have power locks, can't someone just unlock the gate by clicking the unlock door button? Surely I'm missing something....

No the lock for the tailgate is disabled. You have to unlock it with the key or remote

They are taking the "Tesla" marketing approach of creating hype about products and taking money. At least Tuffy is close to a delivery date though.

On another note the console insert is listed now for $136. A must for topless Jeeps. They make quality stuff though, if I had a JL I would plunk down some money for the rear deck and console insert.

I threw my money down last night as well, thinking it was "In Stock." The sad part is that proper accounting principles dictates you don't charge customers UNTIL the items have shipped.

I think the proper accounting treatment is they don't recognize revenue until it's shipped.

They make one for two door JKs, probably coming out for the JL eventually. It's just the 4 door outsells the 2 door so bad it's smarter to start with the JLU first.
