Hello everyone!

I have a 2018 Wrangler JLU. I recently just added 4 brand new wheels and tires onto my JLU. I added 4 Mojave Gladiator wheels that I got for an incredible price. However, the TPMS is not working and I get an error message every time I turn my JLU on (see attached picture). The fact these were brand new I’m sure they have the sensors (even though there is a slight chance I guess they don’t, but you’d think they would let me know that since I purchased them from a dealer). Could it be possible I need to have new sensors installed?

When was the Mojave built? In June of 21 a shortage on the Schrader part made Jeep swap to a Continental part (at least in the JLU) for the sensors.

Yup your 2018 is not compatible with the new sensors. Swap them from your old rims and sell the new ones. You can get a bit for them since they are OEM.

As mentioned, sounds like the protocol is different for the sensors that are installed in the Mojave wheels. If the wheels came off a Gladiator built 6/7/2021 (or later) you'll need different sensors.

You never know. I put on a set of "brand new wheels and tires" for a Jeep and the TPMS never worked. Even our tool couldn't pick them up. Then come to find out, someone removed the TPMS sensors. There is a change in 2021 (as mentioned) and old will not work with new (and vice versa). In any case, you'll probably need to buy a set.
