TPMS on the new wheels

Im putting a new set of rocktrix wheels on my 2024 willys but keeping the stock tires. Can the tpms on the original wheel be put on the aftermarket? One shop quoted me $600 because he said new tpms have to be installed and the original ones cannot be used.

Yes they should be, TPMS just screws into the valve stem. I found out when the short valve stems supplied with the new wheels wouldn’t work and available longer TPMS capable ones were used.

Did the shop specify why they wouldn't fit? And why the replacement was $600? I'm pretty sure this is what you've got ($32.80 each), but @AllMoparParts.com can verify.

I'd definitely get a second opinion.

those are exactly the correct ones.

I bought new wheels and tires from America's (Discount) tires and they did not charge any extra to swap the TPMS sensors from my old to my new wheels and remount the old tires on the old wheels.

To do the whole job dismount, mount/ balance and install new tpms.

So with my 2024 its shouldnt be a problem right? I have an appointment tomorrow at a local tire shop will charge $40 each for all 5 including swapping the tpms.

Swapping the TPMS is a couple minutes to unscrew and re screw. Tough Job

correct, $40 a tire is reasonable. I am curious what wheels you are going with that made another shop say you could not swap the oem sensors in.

That price is insane. At the outer bleeding edge, this job should cost no more than $60/tire, or $300 total.

$150 would be more normal.

$600 is PT Barnum territory.

looking at Rocktrix's website says they work with oem sensors. might need new valvestems which most shops do anyway.
