TPMS not working

Hey guys,

So today I swapped over my wheels from my previous wrangler(2021 Willys), to my new wrangler(2021 Rubicon). Since then, my TPMS sensors are not working anymore. Am I supposed to reset these or calibrate them?

Build dates:
Willys, October 20th
Rubicon, September 21st

Note: I did not dismount tires, just a direct swap from Jeep to Jeep.

The Rubicon is a 2021, not a 22 like it says in your signature?

edit - do you know the build date of the Willys and the Rubicon? Jeep changed TPMS in 21 and if the Willys was built prior to 06/05/21 you may have a compatibility issue.

So I assume though that the build years be 2020 though and not 2021? So that would mean they were both built prior to June 2021?

If both of your Jeeps are model year 2021 they should have build dates from 2021.
Example - my 2021 Rubicon was built 03/18/21.

How about this scenario.. should I even have to calibrate when I switched the wheels over? Do they normally just automatically calibrate themselves and all is good?

Also, I haven't driven the Jeep more than 10 miles since...

If they’re working as they ought to you should see them register on your dash. They don’t need recalibrating.
Maybe drive it awhile more and see if they show up. Sometimes they are finicky. I had a similar issue on my 2018 JL and it took a solid 30 minute drive to get them to show up again.

They calibrate themselves, if they aren't working then the TPMS is likely from right before or after the change.
Do you have the tires from the other Jeep? Just swap them over if so. The TPMS, that is.

Both his Jeeps are post TPMS change. They probably just need to wake up. A good drive or putting some air in them should do it.

Thanks @J.Ferreira, if they don’t work after 20-30 miles i will do that. It just costs stupid money for the shop to swap them over

Discount Tire is generally pretty cheap.

As long as all the TPMS' are healthy and are the correct TPMS's for your JL...

You would want to try the following ...

Make sure the Psi on all 4, on the ground tires are set to exactly what the the driver's door placard recommends. Then go for a ride... Hopefully, all will display after a mile or so.. AFTER all TPMS's are reading you can change the psi on the tires.

If that is a no go..... try -->Often the spare tire messes things up so remove the spare, leave it in the garage and with the PSI's all set as per the door placard, go drive for a few minutes. Once all displays properly, put the spare back on the spare holder.

Also try: --> the current thought by most TPMS retailers/vendors, that IF you have one or more sensors not reading on a say a JL/JLU/JT, you deflate all tires to 12# below the recommended tire pressure, driver's side door sticker that tells you recommended tire psi. Now, after they are deflated you drive say a half mile. Now, you inflate to to +- 1# psi, of the recommended psi on the driver's side door placard and go for a mile drive.. This scenario/routine is suppose to wake up the sensors, so to speak and get them reading...
