How long have you had those seat covers and do you like them? I would get sweaty on my waterproof YJ.
Just at 2 years now. I am liking them more than my Wet Okole which I have had in 2 different Jeeps.

Comfortable in a kilt, or not :)

The aerodynamics of these JLs have changed a lot compared to my TJ. The cross-wind when driving topless/doorless beats the hell out of me in the JL.

In the TJ I might get hit when there was a gust coming from the side, but in the JL it seems to be non-stop
Mm. I'm just back from my inaugural 2023 drive with the top lowered, and was reminded of that very reality with the JL.

I wasn't beat to hell by crossbreezes in my YJ, despite it having proper half doors that were comparatively short. Odd that it would occur in the current Jeep, with its full doors still in situ (even if the windows were lowered).

Izzat a shillelagh in the first pic? I'm attempting to reconcile the dichotomy of an Irish walking stick paired with a kilt. ;)

Rugged ridge lockable cargo drawers, Sun shade and this year will have tube doors. Otherwise empty jeep is good.

Nothing, buddy! Not a single additional thing is required when the top and doors are off. Just enjoy the loud roar of freedom as it blows through your (I mean my) thinning/graying hair. If you're bald though, I would suggest maybe sunscreen or a hat that is tight enough where it won't just fly off.

CAT repellent?. I had one of the beasts use a TJ as a litter box-never again.. . Town folks who don’t want cats think it’s kinder to just dump them and leave them to starve or become feral than take them to an animal shelter. I’ve caught a couple of the two legged varmints over the years (and they’re amazed when the get in trouble for dumping?)
I’m getting ready to go top off in the next couple of days. Unfortunately the jeep will have to sit outside in a questionable neighborhood. I’ve never had problems personally, cameras around the home exterior, and jeep will sit behind a gate. My primary concern is not humans but cats. Lots of feral cats in the area and last thing I want is for them to make the jeep their new home. I’m hoping a cab cover and car repellent will do the trick. It’ll sit under a covered porch area so sun/ rain should be at a minimal nuisance.

Good reminder on carrying hair ties for my girls.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Can you keep it closed with the soft top in the down position?
Yes you can, but you should know that the top doesn't lock into the lowered position with the Slipstream in place. I used large velcro straps initially, and have since purchased Diabolical's soft top cover, which I wrap around the tailgate bar to secure the top down (and keep it compact).

Supplemental to the Slipstream, I have their Slide Floor too, which really makes it easy getting things in and out of the cargo area under the Slipstream. I actually got mine before the Slipstream cause, soft top back window in the winter is no fun to mess with.

I live on the gulf coast so my top is open 90% of the time unless it is ACTIVELY raining.

Taking the side windows out is a bit of a pain, for a minimal gain in open air, largely because we have random HARD, 10 minute rainstorms that pop up out of nowhere. so leaving the windows at home isn't a good option.

I purchased the complete mopar cover (4door fits the 2 door BTW, just cinch the straps a bit).
And I carry it with me all the time strapped to a roll bar. So if I happen to be running doors off or windows off I can pop a cover if I'm worried about rain.
Oh I know that, I am real close to Galveston Bay. And it never rains straight down, that is for sure!

Are you talking about the Mopar cab cover or something else? The rear windows are a pain and my Wife wants them back on before we go to bed. They are not fun to re-install in the dark. I like driving around with the top all the way down but sunrider is so much faster/easier.

I haven't actually used it yet, but I've got a Trail Gear Oasis mounted. Works as a weather cover or a rear awning.

Ok, thanks. My wife bought something similar off Amazon that just has grommets over vertical poles. The only thing holding it on are tent stake lines. It drives me insane setting it up in the wind on the beach. I will see if it fits as a cover but I don't think it's as big as the Oasis. At least that appears to have an upside down U shape that looks like a better design.

@Heimkehr, that one is a walking staff. About 5' tall.

Sunscreen and maybe a hat, sunglasses are a must... I had a Slipstream before on the 21 and don't intend to buy another one.

I was stationed in the Panhandle (Eglin). One of my clearest memories of that particular billet was the almost biblical rainstorms that would arrive and leave within a 20 minute span. The heat of the Florida sun meant that barely 20 minutes later, it was largely dry again and you might not know that heavy rainfall had rolled through.

I had wanted a motorcycle while I was there, but the aggressive rains and the punishing humidity disabused me of that idea pretty quickly, lol.
