I just bought a 2022 Wrangler everything is stock. I’ve had to two previous Wranglers, 2020 and 2018 so I’m familiar with the ride. The 2022 has a lot more bounce on any bump I go over, it’s not affect handling, just so much more noticeable than my 2020.
I’ve put on new GY Wrangler tires, had the balancing done at a specialty tire and rim shop.
I have no idea if the previous owner had larger rims and tires and just returned it to the stock size at trade. I’m wondering if the bounce is due to a caster adjustment? Would the caster need adjusting if the previous owner had run larger wheels? What would I be experience if this needs to be done. Or is it in need of new shocks? (31,000 miles)
Anything else I can look at?
Thanks for the help.

Caster is not causing your problem. Wheel size has nothing to do with caster. A suspension lift needed to clear larger tires may require caster changes.

Did you notice the bounce prior to the new tires? What load rating are your new tires? I’d inspect the shocks for possible leaks.

Yes the bounce was noticeable with previous tires.
New tires are Goodyear Wranglers with Kevlar 275 70 R18. Same tire I had on my last Jeep and they preformed well.

At 31k miles, your stock shocks are about worn out. Visually check them, you may even find one, or more leaking.

The factory shocks are marginal to begin with in my opinion. I’m curious about what tire pressure you run as well.

Shocks, Caster wont cause bounce. The downward inertia is not being dampened by the "Shock" absorber. Upward motion is freewheeling. Results bounce all over the place....Take care and good luck, let us know..

Because of the solid (live) axles, there's no camber & castor adjustment on Wranglers, only toe adjustment on the front axle. You can do that yourself, with a friend and a tape measure. Set the toe just slightly in, no more than 1/8", which will reduce "wondering"...
