Hi all,

I am new here, and as many of you, I did not like the dim lights that the OEM halogens produced, so I jumped onto the Oracle Oculus Bi-LED lights as recommended on this site. I love the light it produces. But I think when the car is off, the lights look creepy- like a sci fi kind. Is it because I have the silver background to match the Sahara? I see a lot of photos of these lights on, but not a lot with them off while installed.
also- the DLR on the fenders no longer work- just the turn signals. Is there an easy fix to that? I replaced the turn signals with Oracles switchback LED. I am sure this has been discussed somewhere- I would love some guidance.

Aesthetics are subjective. What the owner likes, or doesn't like, on their Jeep is the correct answer.

Wanting to improve the forward lighting on my Wrangler, I chose one of the well-regarded H13 LED bulbs. This preserves the correct look (IMO) of the original halogen headlights, while concurrently providing better nighttime lighting.

Those headlights make the Jeep look like it's in a trance or hypnotized. You did look at various pictures before you bought them, right?

Creepy? I think they're endearing ?

We have the same headlights. However mine have the black eyelets, unlike your silver ones. If you don't like the silver you could possibly tint the the headlights to tone it down.

Here's my front end currently. As you can see, I have smoked fender lights.. That should give you a rough idea of what the headlights would look like tinted.

I don't think the headlights look too bad, better than angry IMO. They do kind of remind me 3PO eyes.

When did you DRL stop working after you installed Oracles switchback LED?

I have the graphite and it's not quite as egregious.

I would have preferred black but it was a gift. Silver was definitely a choice there...

I bought them based on photos I saw when the lights were on, never seeing them on a car when lights were off. I agree about the trance look- it doesn’t look right to me. There aren’t many photos I found with Oculus headlights installed but turned off, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. It appears they come in different finishes, and so I was wondering if that could make a difference?

If you're still within the return period, I'd imagine you could send them back and swap em out. If you go that route make sure you get the "Matte Black" bezel!

There may be away to open the lights up and use high heat paint on the silver part. If you aren’t that adept or crafty, buy the ones you want and sell yours here in the marketplace forum. Lot’s of members here seem to like them. You’ll lose some money, but not too much.

Or you can out some quality LED bulbs in your old lights and put them back in.

That would look a lot better. Even more so if she switched out the silver grille slot and bumper trim for matte black.

Worst comes to worst, you can probably put a subtle film tint (not too opaque, obviously) over the headlights
