I am running a 2018 JLU Sahara. I have factory halogen head lamps. I actually prefer them... in some ways. The main reason is if it stops working, I can replace it without spending nearly $1000. I like to keep things simple. My issue is I'm getting older, and my vision driving at night has been better. I struggle with the on coming LED headlights. They wash out the halogens in my jeep.

I would like to keep the lamps replaceable, but I need to be able to get more output down the road... without blinding other drivers. I really like the amber off-road lights I have because they do not reflect back and cause me issues like the bright white lights do. But, I can't go down the road with those on... I am sure it would be equivalent to driving into the sun for oncoming traffic.

I am looking for a dual beam lamp (HI/LO), amber color if possible and legal, can be LED (I do have concerns with ice build up on the lens during winter weather.)

Any Suggestions? Anyone else in the same situation?

Honestly, I’d go with the stock LED headlights. They are “night and day” better than the stock halogens and you don’t have to worry about the legality of them.

As far as replacing them down the road, I haven’t seen any posts on them failing.

Otherwise, @ORACLE Terry can probably help you out with aftermarket options.

Those things expensive for lighting.

yup, not what i am looking for. thanks
I realize that, but your argument for justifying not having LED headlights is irrelevant given that they don’t fail.

But to actually try to help with your problem, I’d start with replacing the halogen bulb for led bulbs. Cheap and worth a try.

I had the same problem with night time vision/driving after multiple eye surgeries. I installed Lasfit replaceable LEDs in the halogen housing. This was very easy and inexpensive about $50-$60. I dialed them down 2 full turns since then I've never been flashed one time. I can see much better. My local law enforcement said they were fine and it passes state inspection. As far as the snow building up and not melting, yes that could pose a problem.

Best of luck.

I don't know a lot about the amber vs the white. I had watched a few videos on it awhile back, if I remember correctly the big difference was the amber did better in dense fog. To my eyes my factory foglights were basically useless. I installed Lasfit foggers (white) and they're great! A huge difference from factory. I have never been flashed with low beams and foggers on. I have just enough vision to legally drive, until they can figure out whats going on anyways. LEDs have helped me a lot.

I had 2 major surgeries in my right eye. They did manage to keep it from going completely dark but IMO it failed. The vision in my right eye is garbage! Now I'm seeing another specialist, I'm facing at least one more surgery maybe 2 more.
