Okay. I’m finally going to get tons, but I went down the rabbit whole of research and narrowed it down to Currie or Dynatrac. For sure doing 72.5” unless someone can give me a solid explanation of why I shouldn’t. Here’s my questions.

1. Air or E-locker. Supposedly air is superior. I like the E-locker but have read they has issues a few years back with teeth breaking on the locker. Currie says it’s because people wire them into the factory locker switches and it doesn’t put out enough or constant voltage and that causes problems. Currie will void warranty if do wire them that way. Would like to hear from people that have “abused” the e-locker and see if you would get them again or go to air.

2, if they were free which one would you take, Currie or Dynatrac? Both customer service seems very good. If I did dyna I would get the 60/80 just because. Currie seems solid. One question on Currie. They have a load bolt on the front axle. How do you adjust it and can it be an issue later on? I like Currie still being somewhat family owned. I know Dynatrac is owned by east coast gear supply along with fusion, and Yukon. I don’t want fusion axles. I thought I did, but after speaking with several people, I’m out on them. Seriously considered Dana, but the don’t make a 72.5” axle.

Thanks for the help in advance. I know this subject has been beat to death. I’ve been saving for 4 years and it’s a lot of money. I want to get the best I can, and also the right options that I’ll have the least issues with.

I'd do East Coast Jeeps , I've had 2 sets of PR 60/80's, one set of ECGS shaved 60/14b...never would use Currie.
Never a E locker as much as I would like to, ARB's are better.
Width depends on trails you go on and wheel choice. I stick to approx 84" width using 40's.

I know the air locker itself is bulletproof however everyone that has one always looses functionality because of the compressor or an air line leak. Keeping things down to the minimum amount of failure points gets me home every time; I'd choose the e-locker.

Dynatrac or ECGS get my vote. I run Fusion and have not had any issues. I am 100% ARB over E locker in the D60. Seen too many issues with them.

I ended up ordering Spicer Dana 60's with E-locker. Those plus MC long arm kit, Wheels with 3.5" bs. Hopefully I made a good choice. I spoke with a lot of people, and watched a lot of videos. Have no idea if they are the best, but they seem to be popular, and can take a fair amount abuse. Allegedly the Eaton E-locker that Spicer uses is a little different then what Fusion or dynatrac gets. That's strictly rumor. Anyway, I'm happy with my choice. Took me about 3 months of research for me to make my decision.

E-locker has less possibility of leaking issues, and if you lose electrical you aren't moving anyway.

Legitimate question here. What issues have you seen with the E locker? As a trail leader at the Easter Jeep Safari, I saw that 100% of the time if someone was having problems with their locker not working, it was an ARB air locker.

I have seen broken side gears and the engagement gears for the locker. Eaton has several versions of the locker making it hard to get replacement parts. Almost everyone I know that got E lockers has replaced them with ARB's around here. It is something with the D60 ones.

Yes I have seen issues with ARB's but most are setup issues or unregulated air sources.

Sounds good., If you have any questions on that kit install let me know.

Thanks. I talked to you on the phone the other day. I think my biggest issue will be with rock rails where they mount in the back. I was also considering adding the rear coil spring spacers. I did the math, and I'll have about 150 pounds of spare tire/wheel hanging off the back, and I have about 80-100 pounds in the rear on a normal day. Probably 150 when I go off roading. With the gas tank on the passenger side. I was considering putting 3. on passenger side and 2 on driver. Thoughts?

I talked to someone else the other day. My 4.5" springs are about 3 years old. Keep them or replace with new ones? No rust on them. The fronts had a couple little spots I cleaned and painted over, but other than that they are clean.

Finally, last question. Since I already have the 4.5" Gamechanger under the Jeep. I just need product code 7290, correct? I should have all the other parts I need already on the Jeep with my original lift.

Thanks for the help.

Supposedly if you use the tazer and hook the lockers to your factory locker switches something isn't right with the voltage. They weren't fully engaging, and if you turned with them the locking gears would slip and the teeth would break. Currie even says on there website it would void any warranty with them if you set them up that way. Other people have said it was because of covid and parts restrictions. I'm hooking mine up to my AUX switches to make sure they get a full and constant 12 volts. Again, this is all hearsay, and what some people have told me.

If I were running Dana 60s I would go with the OX locker, and probably choose the cable option, which I think is the strongest and most reliable of all of them. But even the air option has an easily accessible single o ring, unlike ARB, and you can still easily screw in a plug to easily lock or unlock if something goes wrong.

The normal springs are find for that setup and that weight is accounted for.
