Yeah I don’t care that much tbh, lol. I just was curious if going slightly larger made it necessary to recalibrateDownload a speedometer app on your phone and go out driving and check the difference, it shouldn't be too much if at all. Most manufacturers have the speedometers a mile or two over actual speed. So if your speedo says 60 your really doing 58 or so.
CHP said I was going 75 in a 65, after a “puzzled” look at my speedometer he asked what it was showing, replied 68, he looked at my new tires and said they were throwing the speedometer off better get it recalibrated and left. There are descent ones.If you think you're going 79, and the cop clocks you going 81....you'd definitley notice the differnece here in CA between not being worth the cop's time and getting a ticket with a 3X multiplier on it....
True, must have been towards the beginning of a month ?CHP said I was going 75 in a 65, after a “puzzled” look at my speedometer he asked what it was showing, replied 68, he looked at my new tires and said they were throwing the speedometer off better get it recalibrated and left. Yeah, 75 in a 65 is also still just a standard ticket. I think it’s hard to resist the 3x multiplier once they clock you at 16+ mph over. I’ve been pulled over under 80 a couple times by CHP and only warnings. The one time I blasted up an on ramp and just touched 81….nope not a chance. Here’s your $450 ticket or some suchCHP said I was going 75 in a 65, after a “puzzled” look at my speedometer he asked what it was showing, replied 68, he looked at my new tires and said they were throwing the speedometer off better get it recalibrated and left. Yep- also A-holes , got a 65 in a 55 while in the slow lane being passed. When mentioned he said “ yea, everyone is going fast but so were you” I was riding my Harley “chopper” , the ticket was obviously for that!!!! Edit-Also a 55 in a 45 “ They moved the sign a mile last month” another ticket for riding a Harley!!! 3 cops in 2 cars, shotgun in hand, when questioned “ taillight was flickering “ tightened ground with a dime, gave the ticket back and said “fixed-sign it off” Harley hassle!! 2 cops, gun drawn “Up Against The Car,Legs Spread” when one went to frisk me he saw the back of my jacket and said “ it’s a picture of Mickey Mouse, thought you were the escapee were looking for” You can’t make this BS up!!Yeah, 75 in a 65 is also still just a standard ticket.
