For those of you with Apex 2.5 ton steering, or any other aftermarket steering, how much thread do you have showing on your tie rods? I have an 1-3/4” of thread on each side. Does that sound right?

Doesn’t seem right to me. I quickly went to apex website and reviewed there photos and nothing shows that much thread. Can you post a photo of the box with part number? I wonder if you got the center aluminum bar meant for the standard axle JL and not the Rubicon by accident.

You're gonna want at least 1 1/2 diameters of thread engagement, NOT including the jamb nut.

Oddly enough, can’t find the PN sticker….but it may be under a shipping label. The packing for the individual items have PN’s….The drag link is DL122 and the tie rod is TR192. However, can’t find those numbers anywhere. 😑 The tie rod is 39.5” long.

Thanks! You by chance able to measure the length of your tie rod? 🙂
I can get that for you tomorrow. I have the RPM 2.5 Ton for the Rubi with the Apex ends.
This was the bent one I took off for reference how much thread actually is in the rod.

Thanks for all the help….Looks like I’m gonna have to give Apex a jingle on Monday to see what’s going on.

Here is a pic of mine. Looks like you have more thread showing than you should.
