does the key slider wear down after a lot of use? does it retain a click type of lock or does it become loose and eventually slide out far easier than preferred?
Jeep Wrangler JL Threedom S+ key fob threedom

As @Rhinebeck01 mentioned, Threedom, under warranty, would send out a replacement if needed.

The Model S+ has been available for approx. 8 months now and no, we are not having those that went with the Model S+, reporting issues....

Actually, we have had lots of very positive feedback in regard to the S+, in particular the way the retractable key feature performs.

@donavo , we look forward to your Threedom Model S+ order. Thanks for considering a Threedom offering.

@Rhinebeck01 , Thanks much for your continued support! Your Threedom "GATOR" door handles will be shipped to you this Thur. or Friday. Looking forward to your evaluation/ critique of them. Our design guys say they nailed it.. they await your confirmation of this.:like:

I did break my Threedom S+. Both the case and the slider piece. I made the mistake of using it to "program" a Bolt padlock. That is the lock that uses the car key. I love the lock and have a few of them. But the first time you put the key it, it programs the lock and it is quite difficult to turn. After that it is no problem. So I put the key in and turned and it didn't turn. So I turned harder and eventually the fob broke. I was just going to purchase another one because I really like the Threedom S+ but I thought that I should let them know that it kind of revealed a weak spot. So I emailed them figuring that I would never hear back. A few minutes later, while I was getting ready to place my order, the emailed me back. Thanking me for letting them know and telling me that they will gladly replace the unit. #supercustomerservice They did ask for my order number and they asked me to send pics, which I did. I obviously am super pleased with the company, the product and the service. My only regret is that I only have one Jeep so I don't need any more FOBs. But then, maybe I do need more.

@ZigZag

Geeeez, you must have twisted/forced the living heck out of that extended key... In testing I was really lets say aggressive trying to twist/break the fob... I even drove over the Model S+ with my JL, twice.. Once with key retracted and once with it extended... The fob survived both times.

I doubt Threedom took that damage as a fob shortcoming.... or an inherent design issue.. You were the issue.. :CWL:

Great that Threedom replaced that abused fob for you... many other companies, if you told them what you did... well, they would probably tell you to go pound sand.

That's one thing about Threedom, they are there 110% for their customer.. They are a family owned/ run business that gives a damn. And two of the owner's own new Jeeps (a JL & JT)

You are totally right. I was the problem and I was literally in the process of purchasing a new one when they reached out. The only reason that I reached out to them was because I thought, upon examining the damage, there there might be a weak spot. I definitely did not expect or ask for a replacement.
