Tired again
For you going to work in the morning, I'd say the deciding factor is whether or not you wear a tie to work!

When it comes to the interior getting wet, JL's are not as forgiving as CJ's. Those who say, "pull the floor plugs, and drive it in a monsoon- IT'S A JEEP" are forgetting that the further you get through the Jeep Alphabet, the more electronics there are. And yes, Jeep says that they've made JL's electronics "water-resistant", but do you REALLY trust a company that delivers new vehicles with loose fuses?

When I was working, I kept the ST's windows with me, since it was only about a 5 minute process to remove them and drop the top. I have the half doors, so it's quick and easy to swap them out- IF I'm home. I'm retired now, so the Jeep is naked. If it's supposed to rain, it stays in the garage and we take the wife's car. My bigger dilemma is whether to take the Jeep, or ride the motorcycle on nice days...

not so much for the Jeep but for me, I don't like being soggy. whether it's doors off or the Harley, if it's better than a 30% chance of rain doors stay on and I don't ride.

I've been running with tube doors and safari top for a while

...in two days I'll need to take the Jeep in to work and the weather forecast that day is currently calling for more than an inch of rain. So, what would you do?
With regard to the sensitive electronics bundled just in the dashboard, I'd batten down the Jeep's hatches as a matter of its survival.

It's going to come down to one's personal tolerance for risk, and the collateral repair costs.

I opted to follow the prevailing wisdom and button everything up. Which, of course, means that the weather tomorrow will now be 72 and sunny. And, you're welcome... :)

Okay might as well post here... when I took my doors off last weekend I accidentally forgot to remove the bolt that controls the swing detent and max opening and now it is crammed into its receptacle.

Any ideas on how to fix? I tried pulling it back out with as much for force I could give but it didn't get back over center and full length.

Try this video - at the 1:54 mark they talk about how to pull it out. I have never tried it so I can't speak to it working or not

I’m glad you were able to make this choice and answer this existential question in a world without inherent meaning

I find that with no doors on, the wind envelope of the Jeep in motion keeps almost all of the rain out of the cab. Even more so if you have a bikini or bimini-style top on. I recently acquired a set of soft doors and keep them in the back for "just in case." They are horrendously noisy when mounted, but I only mount them when it's pouring, and I need to go somewhere. Otherwise, I have a cab/trail cover that I throw over the jeep when I need to park it for a while, and I don't know what the weather is going to be.

I've been hit by unexpected rain twice in my jeep when naked. Sometimes, nothing you can do. Though i have kept a tarp in my jeep before.

I find lots of reasons to find fault with my soft doors but they are great when it might rain because you can stash them in the back and head out with the doors off and the top back with the sun shining. Gives you several options when it starts raining.

Ha, I sport that look frequently, especially in the spring and fall. It looks a little goofy (according to the wife) but it works. 40F and rain is a different animal than 70F and rain. Put the electric windows up, turn on the heater and you are good to go. Inside fog on the windshield is miserable and can be dangerous.

Funny- 30% was always my number too!🌦

I got caught in a major thunderstorm and downpour with front doors off and honestly, the trunk area with safari top (which is how i normally get caught) is always soaked. i hate putting windows in. i towel it down in the trunk. but with the doors off i was actually surprised how little rain even got in the cabin area. just a pinch on the seat and rubber mat and just pulled the plug. putting the rear windows back saves far more rain from entering vehicle in my experience. if it rained sideways it would probably have been more in the cabin, but i wouldnt worry

Get a daily driver and use the Jeep (when doors and top are off) only when weather permits would be my 3rd option.
