I can see someone wanting to drill that into their indoor garage, but I'd be surprised if there is a lot of interest for outdoor application

That’s freaking awesome! Put that on there and then run a locking cable around the tree and through all the window frames and you set to run the Rubicon trail doorless! Course then you still have to go back and get them at the end. Probably better for when you set up camp and explore an area.

How about a way to mount this to my spare tire carrier so I can just take the doors with me?

Yes, it’s a basecamp set up. If you have a long trip where you don’t want to drive with the doors off, but when you get there you want to take them off.

And yes, the bolt locking cable that uses the Jeep key is the way to go.
