So years ago I had a 2004 manual Columbia edition 6 cylinder wrangler. That gas pedal was very quick and responsive. You push it in and instantly throw you against the seat. I recently bought a 2022 Willy’s manual and I was wondering is the throttle response normal for the newer Jeeps. I press the pedal and there is a good 1 second delay before anything happens. My old Jeep I got be dumb and tap tap tap the pedal to make the Jeep kinda hop a bit. There is no doing that with my new one. It almost feels like the computer is taking over to force a smooth acceleration. If this is normal is there a way to stop it? I want the quick responsive pedal of my old Jeep Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin
You will initially be like WTF and will need to probably be in "City" mode to start, but you will find your setting (I have mine set at Sport 3, these all make sense when you look at the device).

Running a pedal commander as well. Has improved pedal response dramatically. Mostly run mine on eco but that is due to the engine and it has improved my gas mileage. On occasion I run it on City or in Sport, yet to try Sport +. When in either City or Sport, the Jeep is very responsive. Highly recommend the device if you want to increase your throttle response.

For 3.6 Jeeps with offroad + mode, does that improve the throttle response?

I have a 22 Willy’s so I do not have that mode however I figured out what is going on. I am use to my 2004 wrangler and the new wrangler have electronic throttle per se. It’s not a cable running to the throttle body like the old wranglers so there is a delay with the new ones mainly because it’s programmed so you don’t get a sudden jerk if you press the gas to fast. It’s dumb and I wish it wasn’t like that
