what happens if you don’t umarry yout tazer and just take it out? i have a tazer that i just use for tpms and eventually tire size

right now it is in the jeep but what would happen if it was just unplugged (not unmarried )?
would i loose my setting just like it was unmarried or would the settings remain?

Just needs to stay connected for live options.

The settings stick until you unmarry it.

Why unmarry and remove the Tazer?
You don’t want any backlash from the dealer on having a “programmer” in the Jeep and an excuse to not honor warranty repairs.
At the dealer, updates can over write your menu options
Probably other reasons I’m forgetting.

Not that it’s the end of the world in this scenario, but don’t dealer updates over write your Tazer settings?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the issue is the JL software is overwritten but the Tazer still thinks it's married, and if you then unmarry it you can get into deep 💩

You know more than me about the Tazer but maybe less about being in deep shit 🤷

It needs to be unmarried and removed for any dealer visit that may include a flash, otherwise the dealer overwrite will make the Tazer think it's a different Jeep.

You can leave it married and remove it for everyday use, then just reconnect and unmarry for visits.

My one and only dealer visit was the radiator warranty repair. I unmarried and removed the Tazer expecting them to use it as an excuse to not honor the warranty. I felt lucky they didn’t blame the overheating on the lift and 37s. I guess my thought is why give the ammunition to shoot you. At least make them work for it

I need your expurt opinion. I feel like I might be stepping in something deep right now by replying to this thread and the concurrent "tazer question" by the same OP. Hopefully one becomes a delete thread to cover my tracks.

Plus delete threads are way more interesting.

That one is completely different. That title is singular while this one is plural. Completely different.

I found that the settings don't stick when you take the tazer out. Case in point: I took the tazer out to program my keys with an xtool. The key did not engage any of the light show sequences. Put the tazer back in and the programmed light show did work.

Light shows are "Live Functions" (not "settings"), so the Tazer must be plugged in for them to work.
