My guess is it rattles
I haven't heard that from anyone yet. Any review. But hey, lets all guess and speculate about products we have no experience with. If you have read that somewhere please share it. They could also be using a slide out side table, "borrowing" another design.

Agreed..

He won’t find it anywhere because all of us who own it know that it’s impossible for it to rattle due to its construction and placement during install.

I like this concept. Just a bit worried about execution of it. Looks like lots of opportunities for rattling. And that slide out cutting board cantilevered out there (supported on one end) would be springy or a more technical name...boingy. I'm going to search for a Youtube review.

Update:
I found a youtube from a guy in Sweden or somewhere. He was sawing on the cutting board on something he called "sausage", that looked more like a couple SlimJims to me. I suppose it's functional to use but still pretty boingy. I may get one anyway. Better fit for me than the others I've seen.
I’ve had my Trailgater for a few months and really like it. It fits a two burner stove nicely and the only minimal rattle I might hear while driving could be from the two key rings that are there to pull the release pins to lower the table. I haven’t tried any tape or anything on the rings yet because it doesn’t bother me. My next plan is to rig a simple propane canister holder so I can free up the cutting board more or just change to a 1 gal refillable propane tank on the ground to allow more food prep room.

Thanks for sharing your experience with it. How's the cutting board to use. Kinda looks like it would be pretty springy out that far.

I haven't cut on the cutting board yet. It may sound odd, but I didn't buy this with the intention to cut on it. I use the slide out portion more as an extended counter top and for that, it has been working great. I slide out the bamboo board and leave a good 6"+ not extended and so far it gives a nice stable surface. When I'm home after the new year I can do a test to see how springy it is trying to cut on it.

One more question: I noted that the pictures show the OEM tailgate panel with slots. I assume it is the cabin air exit? The Trailgate table seems to be solid and blocks all the slots.

Good write up!

I’ve tested the Mopar Tailgate Table with 30, 12 oz bottles of beer which I believe is 360 oz. 360 oz should be somewhere around 25 lbs.

Can't tell if you're joking, but the "12oz" on a beer bottle refers to fluid ounces. A fluid ounce is a unit of volume and does not equal one ounce of weight. A 12oz bottle of beer weighs about 1.25lbs depending on what the bottle itself weighs.

30 qty 12 oz bottles weigh about 37.5 lbs

Of course the bottles have weight themselves. The point was that the Mopar Tailgate Table holds more than 25 lbs that it’s rated to lol Very solid table IMO. 30 beers approved!

How do you guys like your Mopar Tailgate Table so far?

Any ratteling? I haven’t experienced any with mine. Super solid!
I got mine on eBay from a reputable seller for a great deal. Right out of the box, it had paint missing and looked like it was rusting, but unfortunately I didn’t notice it until the install was complete. I sprayed some plastic dip on it for now. The left side latch closed but was a tiny bit loose. I wrapped some electrical tape around the square hoop that latches in, and all is well now. No rattles. I thought the frame appeared to be a weak design compared to the ones that have a full back mounting to the tailgate. I figure for what little I’ll use it for it will be fine, but I am not super impressed.

Sorry to hear that man! This is why I don’t use eBay.

EDIT:

I take that back, I did use eBay once to buy a camera and it was in great condition. But I’ve always been scared to use eBay when buying.

Also, you might be able to take it to a local dealership to get it replaced with a brand new never been used one.

You’ll have to take it in to one dealership to get it added to your build sheet then you might be able to take it to a different one to get it replaced. All depends on how willing they are to exchange it. Not sure if they can see when things were added dates wise but worth a shot!

eBay actually sets the standards pretty high for their sellers, especially the ones that have eBay stores.....if you are unhappy for any reason, First contact the seller (state your issue and keep it civil)...most sellers will jump through hoops to make you happy and keep their good rating. If that does not work, file a grievance with paypal....they will open a case and instantly lock down the funds from the sellers account. It is a huge PITA for the seller and most times they will cave in and give you what you want (or a refund). If no solution is provided by the seller in a specified amount of time, Paypal will release the money back to the buyer.

Obviously, don't modify the item....that works against you. Although, I doubt that eBay or Paypal cares.

On another note: My new years resolution is to actually organize my own rig for once....
