I had some 1/2" Al raw stock laying around so that made that easy.
Lopped to length in the bandsaw, faced to length in the lathe and thru-drilled.
I made a second long one if anyone needs it for shipping cost

Incidentally, if anyone ever finds themself in need of something like this, stroll into your local vo-tech machining program and ask the instructor if they'd have a first semester kid make it. Most vo-techs want desperately to stay on good terms with the community and are happy to do this. Unfortunately, machining isn't as sexy as welding or automotive and the machine shop programs are slowly dying due to minimal enrollment
That was really nice of you to do for him. The skills and generosity of forum members never ceases to amaze me.
