Hello, Folks!

Happy Tuesday. 4,500 miles and 5 weeks into my 2023 JLURD. Factory tires, no Mopar hinge gate reinforcement. No mods to the area aside from a Trailgater table. Since new it seems the tailgate is just a hair too far out from the seals. I get dust inside around the seals and on a wet road or car wash just enough water makes it past the seals so I can see water spots on the plastic surround. No water in the floor jack area. Wondering if I adjust the D latch plate inward a bit, or the stop ramp in a bit? My JK had the Teraflex HD carrier and Altra Rack so I had to adjust that a lot, never had dust or water come in with 123,000 miles on it.

Thanks.

Doing some reading, I may slide the D bar forward a MM or two to see if that increases the seal pressure enough.

That's the trick. I have a DIY camp kitchen I put in during the summer and I need to take the D bar out to slide it in. So I adjust my rear gate like that twice a year. It's not hard. You'll get it perfect in 1-2 adjustments.
