Hey guys. I recently installed the rock krawler gen 2.0 quick disconnecting sway bar links.

https://rockkrawler.com/jl-jt-gen-ii-front-disconnects/

I have a Clayton Overland Plus 2.5” lift kit so I bottomed out the adjustable sway bar links though it’s not perfectly parallel to the ground. Maybe 10 degrees off.

My issue is that with the links seeming to be the same length I’ll put on the driver side then when I slide on the passenger side I have to tug down on the bar to get the bushing to slide over the rod. Is this a problem? Is my sway bar bent? Are the links not really the same length? I could slightly lengthen the passenger side one so it just slides on but I’m not sure. Is there supposed to be tension in the bar and this is normal? Not sure.

Got pic of other side ? 10 degrees up is fine, no worries….. looking at the driver side it looks like your axle isn’t centered side to side, looks like it’s shifted to the driver side…...I’m assuming it is centered though since that kit supplied an adjustable track bar…? If it is centered, try putting the driver side link on the other side of the tab, that’s where some JT guys run them….. I doubt your sway bar is bent, just make sure both sides of your springs are the same height, measure from top of axle to lip of spring perch on both sides, you may have a slight lean causing it to misalign a little……

The body of your jeep isn't sitting perfectly level to the axle, that's all. Could be the slope of the ground, or the weight distribution of the sprung body/chassis.

Very common with manual disconnects to have to move/push/shove/ stand on the body to get the link to line back up.

Sway bar link is mounted on the wrong side of the bracket.

Thanks, this helps, I actually noticed it the first time not on the initial install but when i had the wheels cranked all the way to the passenger side to give me more room for checking torque, when I pulled the link off the sway bar sprung up like half an inch....in hindsight, it's probably because the wheels were turned all the way causing the vehicle to not sit level.

Your Jeep is not on level ground when you are connecting/disconnecting them. It may look level, but unsprung weight, different size springs, gas in the tank and very slight uneven terrain will cause what you are experiencing.

You should not be concerned.
