I was recommended to get the Rock Jock Sway Bar Kit which supposedly disconnects the sway bar “automatically” when needed so I guess my question is should I shell out the $700 (part alone) instead of getting one I can disconnect as needed?

I also have the 2.5” RC spacer lift and 2” wheel spacers installed. Other than that not much done to the suspension and it’s a sport unlimited. Really looking to increase flex so I’m not doing unexpected wheelies all the time ?

If I were you, I would get a sway bar link that disconnects with a pin. The Rubi automatic disconnect is a convenience thing, not a necessity. Either manual or auto, disconnecting the swaybar is preferred when offroading though. IMHO.

Thanks for the input! I’m leaving towards the “auto” disconnect especially in the Oregon fall/winter/spring. Other that automatic vs manual, what is an advantage to the rock jock system over the pin type or vice versa?

I believe these units are installed and left alone.

They might have a little extra sway on road, but you dont have to do anything when offroad. Most folks get used to it.

I was referring to the rods that have pins that you pull that releases the sway bar. These will give you a tighter feel on road and then when disconnected, better articulation off road. Just a cheaper option.

Your choice. Either way, you should get something.

Every mod that seems simple somehow turns into a huge decision ? I really appreciate the time you took to reply! I’ll see what a couple places quote me on the rock jock parts+install and if it’s a crazy price then I’ll install the less expensive manual disconnect likely by JKS.

Exactly what the salesman at Jeep said to me after signing the papers? it’s still a lease ($275/month!) and I plan to buy it at the end. Some shops want to empty my pockets more quickly than others too! I got a $7,000 quote to install the Metalcloak lift…

While the Rubi automatic sway bar disconnect is convenient it's also subject to nannying. Exceed 25 MPH only for a moment and it reconnects on you. I'm just cruising through a flat spot on the trail dammit, stop doing that crap! I'll reconnect you when I need you!

A manual sway bar disconnect won't play that disconnect/connect game with you.

I agree it kind of sucks in this regard. But once slowed down to navigate different terrain, it auto disconnects, so not the end of the world. I have gotten used to the back and forth volley of the disconnects and connects. They engineered and designed it this way, so I use it as is.

Haha I can’t even imagine what it feels like but sounds pretty funny ? I’ll have to take a look at the install but if I’m confident I can do it myself I’ll go with the pin type.

Now that that’s decided I have no idea what mod to do next. I recently went full time at work- I’m 20 and I work at a metal cutting tool distributor doing purchasing and selling tools when they need me. This means I’ll have some “extra” money soon..so…I’d like to take some of the work off the spacer lift I have. Any recommendations suspension wise?

Anti-rock are the dopest thing for your jeep if you off-road a lot .. but I think they suck if you don’t off road a lot . The handling on the road / freeway suffer . I had the anti-rock on my jeep a month and return them.. I hated them on road .. made my jeep sway/lean too much .. felt unsafe on the freeway .

The install is super easy .. taking off your swaybar is so easy .. if you buy the antirocks there simple to install… there tons of video on YouTube ..

I recently swap out my sway bar with a rubi takeoff swaybar with electronic motor and install the Evo manually disconnect knob that releases the pin, haven’t had time to test them off road yet. But the jeep handles normally on the road .. and I’m hoping when the pin is releases it’s good enough .

Also check out skyjacker end link disconnect .. cost like 100 bucks and uses pins .. no cutting required .

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely look into all of that! My Jeep is a daily driver and any off-roading is 1-2 hours away at least so it needs to handle well on road too.
