Swapping to 35's TPMS Sensor question

Hey,
So I just lifted my 2022 JL with the mopar Bilstein lift (I got 4inches in the front and 3.5 in the rear)

And now im going to get new wheels and 35's (RockTrix RT105 and bfg mud 35's)

So...do I pay the shop to take out the TPMS sensors and put them in the new tires?

or do I buy new ones and leave the current ones in the oem wheels/tires when I resell them (they have 4kmiles on them and 0 nicks/marks.)

read some threads online about issues getting new ones syncing to the car.

I wouldn't try to pull and reuse the sensors. Just get new sensors for the new wheels. It'll be easier to sell your takeoffs if they haven't been messed with and missing sensors too.

I can't remember where I ordered from, but search the forums and you'll find OEM replacements for about $30 each. I've heard that the kind sold at most tire shops is hit or miss with the JL's and your jeep may not be able to consistently detect them.

You could pull them, but many in the market for takeoffs are looking for plug and play, so they will be more desirable with sensors and you can bump up the cost a bit to pay for the new sensors.

I've done it both ways.
Keep in mind that there were sensor changes in mid-21 model year so someone buying your take-offs for an early 21 or before won't be able to use those sensors from a 22.
I only use MOPAR TPMS sensors and never have a problem. there's nothing to sync up.
I refuse to use any of the cheap knock-offs, that's just me - bad luck with such stuff. Worth it to me to buy it once, install it once and be done. Besides, they'll have the MOPAR warranty and Jeep has to make sure they work in my Jeeps.

aside from guessing by production date any other way to figure out which sensor is in there if there is multiple part #'s?

Build date is the only thing I've seen so far. Even the build sheet gives no details at all.

Look for MDH on the sticker, that will be Month, Day, Hour
MDH: 062209 is June 22nd 9am

My tire shop moved the TPMS sensors at no additional cost.

Moved my sensors from OEM to my new wheels 2 years ago, so no need to worry if new ones worked with my Jeep or not. Sold my take offs to an individual who was wanting to put them on a TJ via adapters, so no need for the sensors; not having them didn't effect me getting rid of them at all....just my 2 cents.

If it were me and I knew I was getting rid of my old wheels I would pull the sensors out of my original wheels and swap them into my new vs. buying new sensors.

Don't overthink this. You have a 2022 JL and with that said, there is absolutely no question what TPMS sensor(s) you need.

Since you mentioned you have a 2022 JL, I don't know why your vehicle's build date was brought up in this thread.... makes no sense at all since you have a 2022 JL.

Leave the TPMS's in your take offs and the takeoffs will be way easier to sell and to sell for more $ with TPMS's in them.

Just be sure to buy TPMS's from a source that is known to have non-counterfeit, correct, fresh, TPMS's. Buy 5 of them and have a tire shop install them. They just install the TPMS's and do not program!

This Schrader will do the deed for your 2022.. When you order, order valve color, "rubber" which is what stock is.

You will have the 5 TPMS's installed in your wheels. Set tire pressure on all to exactly what the driver's side door placard recommends in regard to tire pressure. Now, go for a short drive and your JL will automatically, again automatically, will recognize the TPMS's.

When I recently purchased some used Gladiator wheels to run some snow tires on my 2022 Willys XR, I went the simple route, as well as supported my favorite dealer, and went OEM.

No “syncing” required….just drive for a few minutes and they start communicating.

For some reason I was under the impression new cars were like old cars.

Example. both of my 1992 cherokees are made in 1991.

My wrangler however is a 22. made in april 2022. Weird.... but this makes me way outside of the range of that changeover.

I bought some 68339096AB's and gonna put them on the new tires when they come in
