Sun Visor Broken

It’s kinda funny. My 2020 JLUS had both visors fail. The Jeep was totaled 3 weeks ago. I have a new 2021 JLUR and every time I go to use the visor I’m so hesitant. I’m just ready for it to brake. I have sun visor phobia Now.

Just know that I was EXTRA careful with mine, never slammed it shut, never jerked it open, was never heavy-handed in moving it and it did not matter--mine still broke. 2019 JLUR with less than 26K on it when it did break.

Drivers side went about two months ago. Dealer replaced under warranty. Today the passenger side and the drivers side got in a huge argument and the passenger visor decided to quit! Just in time before my warranty runs out. Hopefully these both last three more years. After warranty ill do the fix.

cant really blame the jeep engineers though. This new technology has only been around for so long

Had this happen to both visors on my Jeep and I am not hard on my visors at all. They have already been fixed, but this should really end up as a TSB with how frequently it seems to be happening. Is there anything we can do to help that process along?

You'll more than likely have to pay out of pocket.

I also did this fix.. I replace one, then saw this post and when the second one broke a month later, I decided to do this fix, which is better than replacing it with something that will just break again.. IMO

I had .one replacement last year. Again they dropped out that pivot point..

I thought they fixed that probi. I had mine replaced last . Again the drivers side dropped out the pivot point again. Is they a actuall new replacement part number other than the original part number?

This is my 2nd set under warranty. Make sure they order the revised version. Apparently. Last time they ordered old style.v

I’m guessing I’m running on borrowed time, I have 46k miles on my 2018 and no issues that I’m aware of but to be honest I rarely use the visors.

The dealer has ordered the new visor. The entire visor. Aparently it only comes as a whole unit. Now I have to look up how to clear the garage door opener.

Having already had both sides break, I wouldn't allow anyone to use the passenger side and would gently use the driver side only when absolutely necessary. It still broke... Thankful for the DIY fix posts.

I joined the club today. I moved the visor to remove the windshield bolt (passenger side), as I was installing a mopar sun shade… Which, incidentally doesn’t seem to have been designed for use with a soft top. I guess I’ll be visiting the dealership… 2020 JLUR, 16k miles, 12 months old…
