So I started unbolting it and traced the wires to the plastic wheel cover on the passenger side. Its easy to unplug and remove with 4 bolts. When traveling its usually under piles of gear
anyway so I will consider leaving it out for added storage. Now how do I cover the hole?

The entire side panel comes off. If you're planning to leave it out, you'd be best off to replace it with one that didn't have a subwoofer. You could probably find someone to swap with you, or find someone who has added in the sub and has their old panel lying around.

I pulled the side panel. Good idea maybe I can post an add looking for a swap

I suppose my comment still stands, but I didn't realize you had a 2-door (nor did I realize the 2-door sub was built into the floor, lol). When referring to the side panel coming off I was more talking about taking the subwoofer out, since the 4 door is built into the side and that's the easiest way to remove it. I thought you had taken just the woofer out and were trying to fill the hole in the side wall.
