Strange big blocks of empty space in certain posts

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can explain to me why certain, seemingly random posts, both my own and those of others, have these HUGE blocks of empty space at their bottom?

I've been noticing this long before I recently joined this forum, and always thought that it was quite annoying. But now I see it happening to random posts of my own, and I can't for the life of me figure out why it might be occurring, or if I am doing something to make that happen.

Ratbert, I don't see any ads on this forum anywhere. But yes, come to think of it, I do have AdblockerPlus.
