@JeepCares, Do you know if this is just a problem with 2018-19 models? Has FCA changed the batteries they use in the 2020 models? I'm asking because I have a 2020 JLUR on order.

My 2020, which was purchased a month ago, will display the "Start-Stop Not Ready Battery Charging" warning if the vehicle sits for a few days. I've been working from home due to the Coronavirus and just drove my Jeep for the 1st time in 2.5 days. Sure enough I got the message. It goes away if a drive for a while.@JeepCares, Do you know if this is just a problem with 2018-19 models? Has FCA changed the batteries they use in the 2020 models? Thanks for sharing that. My Jeep is being shipped right now (i hope). I was just curious because all of the posters before you have 18 or 19 JL's. I'm going to ask my dealer when I pick up my Jeep but I doubt he will know. Seems JeepCares doesn't know either... or just doesn't care. No worries!! I'm going to keep an eye on mine for the next few days. Granted, as I mentioned above, I'm not driving as much since I'm working from home. I have an upcoming appointment with my dealer for another issue, so if this ESS message keeps popping up I'll have them check the batteries. Good luck with your new ride - you're going to love it!!Thanks for sharing that. My Jeep is being shipped right now (i hope). My 2020 does that too especially if itās below 45-degrees.....My 2020, which was purchased a month ago, will display the "Start-Stop Not Ready Battery Charging" warning if the vehicle sits for a few days. From what I have read and also talked to mechanic buddy of mine, the ESS not working until the Jeep is at operating temp.(warmed up) is normal. What isn't normal is how weak the batteries are causing other electrical problems. My 2020 does that too especially if itās below 45-degrees.....
My engine temp can be ānormalā and the ESS still āisnāt readyā. Yeah, ok... when it a 70-degrees outside I can start y engine and ESS works when cold. Haha, trust me, I hate the ESS system as much as i'm thinking you do. This is why I hate when companies advertise something as "standard." All that means to me is I have to pay for it whether I want it or not. I would have loved to order my Jeep without the ESS system. To me, it's just another battery/system that can fail on me at the worst possible time and it has little to no benefit. My engine temp can be ānormalā and the ESS still āisnāt readyā. Yeah, ok
jeep engineers drinking whiskey at lunch again.....
If I could have hit the ālike buttonā 45 times on this I would have. Or maybe 50!Haha, trust me, I hate the ESS system as much as i'm thinking you do. Youāre assuming that your dealer will even be open for business when you want to go?Welp another update. ESS worked for a bit but as of yesterday has started displaying the ābattery chargingā message again. I guess if we donāt all die from the Coronas or exploding clutches Iāll take it back to the dealer yet again. Hopefully they will do more than just charge it for a few hours and say itās good to go...
Most are still operating in terms of service. My wife has an appointment for service next Thursday. She called to confirm and was told to come in.Youāre assuming that your dealer will even be open for business when you want to go?
weāll see.
