Took my Brand new 2019 JLRU 2L turbo (1100 miles) in to investigate a check Engine light that came on after the second time the Stop/Start unavailable service system message happened. The dealer pulled the code as P0507 claimed that since I drove the jeep in 5 inches of snow and below 32 degree temps that the accelerator pedal was frozen and caused a the high idle condition. I picked up the jeep that night drove it home and back to work the next morning. Sitting in our parking lot at work in park the Stop/start error came back (no check engine light). Later that day I did some experiments trying to recreate the issue since based on how investigated the first issue I wanted to have more information to guide them this time. My testing:

1. Short drive Coolant temp stayed between 160 ā€“ 175. In drive or park. Could not reproduce the issue.

2. Longer drive Coolant was between 180 ā€“ 200. In drive the error will not happen. Put the vehicle in park and wait 2 ā€“ 4 minutes and the start/Stop service message will display. The second time the message appears the check engine light shows up.

With this information in hand went to the dealer having never turned off the jeep.

If I donā€™t turn off the jeep and the tech plugs in he find the PCM is showing a see the idle reading 200 RPM more than it should have been. We turned everything off cleared the codes and reproduced it showing the same issue.

This was last night and they are opening a case with Jeep. More to come..

Hey sho, hope that the new Jeep isnā€™t giving you any other issues. I too am having the same exact issue. Leave it in park and idling for a few mins and the same start stop issue. Another issue that I have ran into but can not reproduce yet is my foot may have not been fully depressed on the brake but as soon as I start the Jeep if I do not let it cycle through the screen where the little Jeep drives from lleft to right I switch it from park to drive but it says the emergency park brake is locked and to put it back to park which I did but doesnā€™t fix the issue. I need to shut the Jeep off then restart it to clear the issue. It happened twice. I have not had issues till 2406 miles. I drove from jersey to Florida with 2 wave runners no issues but since I have been here now Iā€™m experiencing issues. Iā€™m concerned about when I head back to nj. Itā€™s over 1000 miles. Has your dealer said anything yet?

Experiencing similar issue on my 2019 2.0l Rubicon. Have an appointment to bring Jeep in next Thursday. They told me it is safe to drive like this in the meantime since the CEL is steady and not flashing.

So I have also done some experimenting. If I leave the start stop active and not disable it. It seems to run fine. No issues but as soon as you disable the start stop feature and let the car idle for roughly 3-5 mins thay is when I get the error code and cel light. I have since reset the light snd replicated this a couple times.

JR! for my issue I can reproduce it with the Start stop active or disabled. the thing I noticed is that it is very depended on the jeep being at full normal temp(185 -200). Anything less and it will not have the issue.

As an update the star tech has recommended replacing a pressure relief valve. This has been back ordered for a week and should be delivered today. Hopefully know more tomorrow if this fixes the issue.

Well the issue Continues. The replacement of the pressure relief valve didn't fix the issue. No news yet on the next step from my dealer.

I had the same error code 2 days ago, then yesterday after work, it was gone and hasn't come back (not yet at least). I have an appointment with dealer scheduled for next week. I am going to bring it in anyway just to have them check it out. Hopefully it doesn't come back and all is good.

Good luck with yours!

Apparently the Dealership had a regional jeep specialist look at it and they are still unable figure it out. They have now ordered several sensors and other random parts and are going to start swapping them out to see if they can get more information from the jeep. Apparently no one can find the issue.

Sounds as like the saga of the 2018 JL is now continuing to the 2019! All the stories about the first year problems would be corrected by the next production cycle would be solved. NOT!
