I can guarantee that you know more than my local dealers.

I talked to my dealer yesterday and asked him to get me a price on what I wanted in this sting gray. He asks me if it's available to order yet. :headbang:

I wish I could just order what I want on a website, and have it show up 2 months later. Why not? I thought this was the future?
Great idea, order direct from the factory. That works for me.

Any onions on Crystal Granite vs sting ray gray
Nobody has seen the Sting Gray but it has the same paint code as Destroyer Grey. My 2015 Jeep Baja Yellow had the same code for a yellow they used on a Vette in the past and it was an exact mach.

With that being said I think of the Crystal Granite like a darker metallic silver and the Sting Grey more flat like the plastic models we put together as kids. Hence the Destroyer Grey name they called it for the Challenger.

Do you mean "opinions",in which case you came to the right place, there are a million opinions on here, and that is always fun.Personally I am ordering a Sting Gray tomorrow Rubicon tomorrow, granite is a great looking colour but on a Jeep I like to have a non metalic paint,I think it looks better and less "flash" (although I almost ordered an Ocean Blue!) I also like to have a less common colour,black/red/white/silver/dark gray are all pretty common,I have a Rock Lobster Sahara unlimited with body matched roof and fenders, many (most) people would think thats as far away from "off road Jeep" as you can get,the reality is I did not take it off road, hopefully I will with the Rubicon, but in 5 years I have seen 2/3 of the same colour,it was not very popular and they didn't build them for long...yet some people still think (including me) the colour is amazing!.. so I think the Sting Gray is going to be pretty rare in comparison to the more regular colours, especially here in Canada where the configurator only went live LAST WEEK and it does not show the Sting Gray colour choice!...so there is my opinion! :) good luck with your choice.

Also Sting-Gray is a cooler name than granite so there is that.

It sounds like a reject from American Gladiators.

Google it kids.

Had an online chat with Jeep and they “did not know when or if the color matching Sting-Gray top might be available.”

I was tired of the vague answers so I emailed Michael Manley (Head of Jeep Brand) directly over the weekend to inquire about the matching Sting Gray hardtop and vent about vague answers and missing out on the $500 Cash Bonus Allowance since I’ve been waiting for my color.

One of his “Executive Managers” called me today to inform that the Sting Gray color matched top will be available April 9th. She also offered to help me with the $500 incentive once I place my order. Now the question is, do I order with the black top to get in the production line and then will I have enough time to revise to painted top when it becomes available on April 9th?

I am far from an expert but even with your very nice inside help I am not sure you would be able to change from black to body colour top once you have left D status,my experience from reading many, many MANY posts on various threads is that once an order hits D1 you can no longer make changes.(even D status changes will require effort from the dealer to contact FCA at some level to make changes) someone please correct me if I am wrong. :fingerscrossed:

I was told today by jeep customer service that all new colors wouldn't be available for color matching tops until 2019. If your information is correct, I don't mind waiting until April 9 to get the matching top. Anyone one know when Jeep will be switching to 2019's

I’ve learned from this forum about the D status changes but wasn’t sure how long it’d take to get to D1 for a Sting Gray Sahara if I ordered now

Just placed my order for a Sting-Gray two door 6-speed Rubicon with hard top. Let the waiting begin!

I got 5% below invoice plus a couple hundred extra off for Tread Lightly affiliate code. Pretty happy with those numbers, dealer is 1/10 of a mile from my office.
Sorry for my confusion but when you say invoice are you stating x percent below MSRP or are you saying really x percent below factory invoice? Thanks for clarifying.
