Can 1/2 doors still be ordered?

heyas,

I went to 2 different dealerships this weekend to order a new Rubicon X, and I REALLY wanted to get the 1/2 doors.

Neither dealer could find the half doors to add to the order, are they no longer available? are we missing something that i can bring back to the dealer and say, hey, look here instead?

I did wind up ordering one, but without the doors, but got the dual tops.

Did you try different colors? I know some aren't available.
Did you select dual top before half doors, both won't fit.

They do. It’s because they ship the vehicles with all the extra parts in the cargo area. For the same reason, you can’t get dual top group on the two doors. The box is too big…

Yup, they even have to jam the front seat forward to fit the soft top in the back.

Call your dealer back and try to change the order to just the hard top and half doors. You can always add or find a soft top later.

Amazing. All this time I thought I couldn’t get dual top group on mine in 2018 because of some production issue. ?

Yes what he said, it’s harder to get matched half doors than find a soft top

I should also have added that if you want both tops eventually make sure you order the hard top from the factory. If you order the soft top only I don't believe Jeep wires the rear for the washer/wiper or the rear defrost for the hard top and it's expensive to do later.

There is a Mopar retrofit kit, but definitely looks like a PITA.

Where else would they put them? Trust the idiot dealer to keep an eye on them and keep associated with the correct Jeep? Would never work....

I mean, I can get a computer desk freight dropped on a pallet in my driveway but not a couple half doors? Seems amateurish to not solve it… much rather pay to have em sent to me than put together at a parts department and painted to hopefully match at a body shop etc

Jeep's not selling direct. They sell to the dealer. Antiquated, I know.

Ofc yeah. Someone was saying Jeep looked into selling owners painted halfdoors but wanted to match them to your VIN #, wasn't sure if that is a law problem or technical/paint issue

Why can't they just send the painted doors to your dealer you pick the Jeep up from if there's no room in the vehicle? It's dumb... think they just have 2 door Wranglers at the bottom of their list in general.

Someone in another thread mentioned his Aux switches disappearing from his new order, without explanation or price credit etc so his dealership is putting them in for him on the arm, after Jeep told him to get lost.. Also, on a 2 door one cannot get the 35" package but for the JLU no problem? Very strange
