Read the description on the accessories. They will offer a factory “ paintable hard top”. Looks as if getting a painted top may be on the customer after purchasing one of those, I actually don’t think it’s such a big deal, as I know a lot of people who sand and paint the factory black tops. Most auto bodybuilding places do enough of them they do it for a pretty good price. But it is a shame if you no longer even have an option for factory painted,
It looks like they are planning on selling a “paintable” top, rather than colour matched. I think the concern is that they may be looking to this to solve their supply issue with coloured tops - buy it and paint it yourself.

Make you order a non color matched top in order to paint to match for late availability colors.
I think this has always been the case on the dealer order site because when I test drove a Sahara on January 3rd it definitely had Select-Trac, but it had the stock Sahara wheels. I NEVER trust the public "MARKETING" funded online configurators. They are usually close but not necessarily 100% accurate.
No, there is no confirmation. If anything most likely they might be restricting ordering a painted sting gray top because painted tops are already strained/restricted. I personally fully expect they will produce paint matched tops on string gray jeeps from the factory, it's just going to take time.
