CEO reports to the board, who are elected by the shareholders and compensated for their service. Board negligence is profound…a dramatic failure of a strategic plan…short term profits came at the expense on long term planning.
Typical c e o looking at short term gains have not long term. Leaving past customers out to dry and wondering why they can't get more sales.

Why is that basically everything now? Speaking from a purely economics and not political perspective, it’s like appropriate risk aversion has gone out the window and all large companies care about is extracting the absolute highest profits today, tomorrow be damed.

Lmfao. I'm going to add onto this. With the lease incentives on 4XEs being so incredible a lot of people were just leasing them and instantly buying out the lease. I guess Stellantis financial wasn't able to make any money off of these leases, so they announced that they'd be charging the DEALER a $1425 fee for all leases terminated within the first few months.
If I understand what was going on here, I am on the side of Stellantis for wanting to claw back some of their money. It should have been coming from the person leasing, though, and not the dealer, and it appears they changed it to that. Stellantis was passing on the EV tax credit in full to the consumer then getting shafted when the consumer bought out the lease early. Someone at Stellantis didn't think of that loophole originally.
