***UPDATE 10/20/23*** - 15 phone calls, 7 emails, and 4 months later and they've now told me the claim is denied because no parts were replaced. The warranty work does NOT qualify for a trip interruption reimbursement because they used the same parts. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Spent a week in Utah wheeling and camping. Heading home to northern CO and pulled into a gas station to poop. Came out, and no bueno. I thought it was oil at first. Seemed yellowish/clear touching it with my finger. Upon further investigation, itā€™s got a reddish hue and looks like it exploded out of the top of the transmission. Stellantis warranty people have me sitting waiting for a tow for 90 minutes, I just called and got my own in 5 minutes. @JeepCares not a very good product youā€™re pushing on peopleā€¦..

I wonder how long this 24 hr road side assistance will sit like thisā€¦. Iā€™ve called them 3 times and their response is always, ā€œwe have escalated to our dispatch and will get someone to you soon.ā€

Well, I learned that itā€™s orange coolant! I think this is the recall issue which the work was already done yet the jeep still dumped it.

You may want to powerwash the dirt off before taking it to dealer, just saying.
I donā€™t think I can drive it if itā€™s leaking coolant to get it to wash off. Usually I do wash the vehicles before a dealer looks at it because I wouldnā€™t want someone to give me something dirty to look at. I just donā€™t think thatā€™s a possibility.

Good grief! I mistakenly assumed from reading your first post that you called and got your own tow going after having waited 90 minutes. Thatā€™s horrible youā€™re still waiting!

THIS is the exact reason I tell people how wrong they are for doing the so-called "spare tire delete" and expecting roadside assistance to promptly get them on their way in the event of a flat.

A vast majority of drivers have no idea how useless these services can actually be.

@COJeeper think warm thoughts..

Three hours now in 48 degree weather on the ā€œ24 hour road side assistanceā€

Iā€™ll share the conversation. People need to know this is how it works.

They picked you up yet? I definitely would've gone through my insurance for a tow. The tow service is included in your warranty, but they do take forever! I think they use specific towing companies, in certain areas and they only use those. I think that's what I was told. Instead of them having a team reaching out to multiples in the area to find quickest availability. They stick with whom they have a contract with, regardless of how backed up they are.

It may also depend on your location too...a big city, they may have contracts with multiple tow companies. The more rural, the less availability.

I wanna say this was their process some years back. I hope they get to yall quick!

Youā€™re not mistaken. I did get my own tow after an hour and a half and am expecting reimbursement. $500 for the tow. I did call and they said I could get reimbursed but the off-shore support team wasnā€™t sure how much. I just wanted to see how long theyā€™d make me wait and share that so people are informed.

The tow truck driver said his dispatcher was probably contacted and declined the job because these warranty services and AAA do not pay much. He said most companies, at least in this area, will decline the tow and people will be stuck waiting indefinitely.

I usually preach against extended warranties too. Now I have first hand experience that I want to share with why I think like that. The whole lying about, ā€œwe are doing everything we canā€ is BS. Theyā€™re not, or theyā€™d pay whatever a company is asking and not try to keep negotiating to save money.

$$$$ over people.

I also think tow companies shouldnā€™t take advantage of people in a crappy situation. Theyā€™ve got you by the balls, youā€™re stuck, they know it, theyā€™ll charge whatever they want because, what else are you going to do? Bummer city.

Yup! After an hour and a half I called a tow company myself and had someone there within 45 minutes. Now, I wait and see if Iā€™m fully reimbursed the $500. Still quite annoying. Iā€™m supposed to get up to $1000 reimbursement for trip interruption, Iā€™m still about 4 hours from home (over 100 miles).

Yayyy! At least yall were rescued ?? I donā€™t see how they could deny your reimbursement for trip interruption. Seems pretty open and shut to me.

If there is no one available, there is no one available. They can't poop out a tow truck and driver on command.

I had this issue with my insurance company and they said if I can find a tow truck, go for it and they would reimburse me. I couldn't find one either. Hitched a ride and it was picked up the next day.
