Besides the shudder in the steering wheel over potholes, etc. how would you describe any play in the steering wheel and / or wandering, pre and post new steering stabilizer?Updated!!! It took about 4 days for my dealer to receive the steering stabilizer. Took the dealer less than 30 minutes in and out the door. It drives great. You can feel a difference. More dampening for sure. Tried to go over all the pot holes on the way home. It is fixed.
Update:I started noticing a wobble/shimmy a couple weeks ago when driving over a bridge on I-75 only one (1) mile from FCA HQ in Auburn Hills MI.![]()
Checked out this thread tonight after watching a video piece on a local Detroit station warning about this issue.
Thanks much to all of you who contributed your knowledge and wisdom.
I’m at 7080 miles so that is consistent with many other owners’ stories. Snapped this pic tonight X092 so I’m in the club. Note the long vertical scratch next to the X.
I’ll be calling and texting this pic to my dealer’s service department Wednesday morning. @JeepCares
It seems like FCA can debate if this is a safety issue or not, at least until someone dies from the wobble. But FCA certainly can not debate the effect of the wobbling on all the steering related bushings and joints. High frequency violent oscillations left and right put abnormal stresses on all those parts causing premature wear, which further increases the wobbling events which increase the rate of the wear and tear. I doubt if FCA would win a class action lawsuit aimed at this point and seeking relief with an extended warranty for all involved parts.Having same issue. JL, new in June, 6500 miles on it now. First noticed it Nov. 2 when I thought I got a flat tire (going 70MPH on freeway), I started to pull over and the wobble went away. It's happened numerous times since then, feels like it's getting worse. Happened today, worst wobble yet, going just 55MPH. I didn't slow down for about 5 seconds to see if the wobble would continue and it did...didn't stop till I took my foot off the gas. Will be calling dealer in AM - glad to see some here have found a fix. Hoping it's just that simple!

https://www.morris4x4center.com/fox-2-0-performance-series-steering-stabilizer.htmlJust took mine in. The issue showed up at 13,500 miles. It isn't terrible, but becoming consistent at 55-59 mph. My dealer ordered a new stabilizer but said it might be a long time.
How much $$ does the Fox 2.0 cost?
The one I ordered was the Tereflex Falcon Nexus 2.2 adjustable. Direct bolt on and you can adjust the settings on it. Its more expensive than the Fox, but its gotten great reviews.Besides FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP Steering Stabilizer Part no: FOX-985-24-173 and Rough Country N3, what other steering stabilizers are out there that don't require a relocation bracket? I just want the "remove two bolts, install the same two bolts back" type of steering stabilizer (like the Fox 985-24-173 and the Rough Country N3). Non-lifted 2018 JLU Rubicon.
I believe that one is more than 2 bolts to deal with on the install though. I'm not worried about the price, I want the simpler OE style install (2 bolts to deal with only, no removing other parts to get to parts like the Nexus 2.2 install video shows). The one I ordered was the Tereflex Falcon Nexus 2.2 adjustable. I have this one and love it!! I replaced my track bar and control arms with Metalcloak also. My bad death wobble issues are gone for now.The one I ordered was the Tereflex Falcon Nexus 2.2 adjustable. Direct bolt on and you can adjust the settings on it. It was a super easy install. The video wants you to move the track bar out of the way by unbolting the left side but we didn’t have to do that to get mine on.I believe that one is more than 2 bolts to deal with on the install though. Did you need any special tools that might not be found in the average tool box?It was a super easy install. The video wants you to move the track bar out of the way by unbolting the left side but we didn’t have to do that to get mine on.
