Our JLUD had issues in Moab on steep obstacles- transmission would jump out of gear, into neutral, show a transmission problem light on the dash and not function until the jeep was turned off and restarted.

if I took a slightly less steep line, everything worked perfectly fine and zero issues anywhere but really steep sections of rocks/trails…

anyone ran across this issue and what was the root cause?

note: transmission is properly filled and serviced, double checked after the first climb failure

assuming nothing is bent in the linkage, i can't think of what this would be except for fluid level.

did you go through the whole ridiculous process to check the level? at proper temps, after shifting back and forth, etc?

i don't know if this is the best video on it, but it's one of them...
