Deep, I had to notch out the more skid (a stiffener than runs across the top) a little but other than that, it fit like a glove.
It's like you knew what my next question would be.

The ZF trans is a beast. I had it in my Audi A7 and the fluid was original at 234,000 miles when I traded it in. There was a guy on Audiworld that did his first trans service at 192,000 miles and it is still running strong. There was a guy in the thread that changed his fluid at 131,000 miles and sent a sample to Blackstone who said the fluid was still good.

ZF recommends about 60-80,000 mile service interval for a fluid change but there are several examples out there that the Lifeguard 8 fluid is in fact fluid for life. But even saying that, there is nothing wrong with servicing your trans.

I was told by the service advisor at the jeep dealer today the the auto trans for the diesel doesn't need a service. Has lifetime oil. How long is a lifetime.....lol. From what I researched was the actual filter was built into the pan, which is around $350.
Just seems sketchy to me not to do a service, but I'm an old guy......lol
ABSOLUTELY, they are spot on! When your oil dies so does the transmission. I bought a beautiful Grand Prix for $450. The trans slipped like hell if you pushed the gas a LITTLE too hard. Got it home and dumped the oil. Changed the filter, 3 quarts of trans fluid, and 1 quart of Lucus additive (thick straight fluid) The car has been winning stock cars since 2016 with no problems with 3 different owners. Every automatic I ever owned never hit 60k without a trans oil changed. I never lost a trans from changing the oil and have owned hundreds of cars in my 80 years. I now have 5 cars and a motorhome. There is a lot of BS out there, oil fails!
