…. However frustrating, It appears to be 100 percent your fault...
The post deliberately jumped out and is looking for a pay day. Are you sure it “APPEARS” to be 100% his fault?

Don't involve insurance, you can get a brand new factory bumper from a member for half your deductible or less actually. Go aftermarket and it is even cheaper.

Get it fixed or buy a replacement from someone.

I did the same thing at a car wash about a year ago. I too have a $1,000 deductible. To replace the bumper and plastics was less than the deductible. I also had a mild crease in the body I elected not to fix….as it’s not noticeable.

It looked better than expected after cleaning up the ride today so I’m gonna go the duct tape then beer route for this one. Duct tape to keep the busted plastic piece in place and then beer for the rattle can session this weekend. I’ll sit tight and see if I can score some good Black Friday deals on a replacement rear bumper. Thanks everyone for your advice

Trail scars are overrated on a $50,000 Jeep. A subsequent buyer will not “value” body damage. Get it fixed….

Would you replace the bumper every time it got dinged up? Let it ride, unless the damage dictates a replacement is necessary. Then get it fixed or get an aftermarket bumper. Especially if you're going to make it a habit to back into gas station poles.
