Just purchased a Starlink Gen 3 and would like to install on my JLU for extended backcountry trips. Who’s running one and how are you powering it? Running it off the battery? Powerbank? Solar and battery system?

If you're doing extended backcountry trips you should have a 100AH house battery, charged with a DC-to-DC charger and/or solar, for everything that requires power but is not directly involved with operating the vehicle. Leave the JL batteries exclusively for the JL and the house battery for everything that operates in the Jeep but is not part of the Jeep. Fridge, communication devices, Starlink, etc.

It's the difference between a miscalculation making you start the Jeep to generate power and a miscalculation wiping out your ability to start the Jeep and leaving you stranded.

I really appreciate your insight. My first instinct was to go with a separate system for it, but wasn’t sure if I was on the right track. Thanks!
