I had to R&R my steering box. Long story.

I'm getting a Stability Control light. I'm wondering if I had rotated the steering wheel from the removed position, one or more turns in either direction, would it create a problem for the steering sense system and lead to the Stab Control annunciation?

There is a reset procedure for this I think. I can't find it right now; but try this:
Turn steering all the way right, then all the way left, three complete cycles then back to dead ahead; with engine on. Turn off engine, let it sit for 5 minutes. See if that clears it.

Is your steering wheel "straight" when the wheels are straight? From what I have read the steering wheel can only be a few degrees off before setting a code.

No luck on the 3 turns, shut off and restart.

Looking at the factory service manual, it seems that I may have the steering wheel rotated and the "clockspring" out of index on the SCCM.

The service manual doesn't offer a recovery method to get the SCCM clockspring back into timing.

@alphawolff have you run into this and have a method besides trial and error?

I did this before and it worked… with the engine off but ignition in run position, on level ground, wheels straight, turn slowly to lock each way 3 times, then put wheels straight, turn the ignition off, open the door, wait 15-30 seconds, then turn on engine and take for drive, the light stayed on for a mile or two then went off…..This was on a 2019 Rubi, and I’ve only tried this once, but it did work……

With your steering wheel and wheels straight does the off-road pages image show the wheels turned? I’m wondering if you can use offroad pages images as your trial and error rather than an Autel scanner or whatever its called.

Thanks much Terry. I'll check that now. My bet is the display show the wheels turned and that should give me the direction to correct the issue. 👍

Terry, if you were here, I'd kiss you. It showed a 24* left turn with the wheels straight ahead.

I'm going out there to disconnect the column and rotate the steering wheel one rev to the right.

Fixed. Shows 0* and now I just have to clear any code with JSCAN and drive it.

Dash light went out by itself after about 300 yds and JSCAN didn't show codes. 👍
