Hey y'all, first time poster here, have an 03 Rubicon that's still going strong but I'm looking at getting a 2 door JL. So I know the basic speakers on wranglers are absolute trash. I've been shopping for a 2024 2 door wrangler up here in Canada, the entertainment/technology package doesn't mention anything about alpine speakers. When getting the 2024 2 door with the technology package does it upgrade the speakers quite well or should I upgrade myself? I test drove some Sport S/Willys/Rubicon models and none seemed to have the subwoofer in the trunk and the sound was honestly terrible compared to my 2018 Grand Cherokee which honestly slaps.

Thanks in advance

I take exception to your characterization of our '23 2-door JL Sport S sound 'system' as trash. I have the rear sub-woofer in the 'trunk' (although my WeatherTech liner covers it). I find the sound quality quite good.

I find the Alpine system in my 2022 Rubicon to be outstanding compared to my 2010 JKU Sport and 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro.

A lot of it comes down to preference, and others on the forum have felt the need to upgrade, but to me, it's more than adequate for topless/doorless driving and sounds great with the top and doors on.

Sorry I meant to say that the basic system sounds bad and in the Canadian options packages it doesn't say anything about the technology group being the upgraded alpine system, I was wondering if the technology group in Canada gives you the alpine speakers and sub?

I'm not 100% sure for 2024+ Jeeps or specifics for Canada, but I believe for 2022-2023 Rubicons sold in the US, the Alpine system was standard. The easiest way to tell is to see if the subwoofer is included, as the standard system leaves this out.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have ordered the premium audio if I had the chance to exclude it, but I am very happy to have it, and many of my passengers have complimented the audio system.

I ordered a 24 Willys 2 Door and had to get the Tech Package to get Alpine. It might be standard equipment on Rubicons. It would definitely say it on the window sticker though.

The speakers on the non alpine sound pretty good after they break in with minor tweaks to the sound , I put terra acoustics on top of the dash and to me r sound is great now . Obviously it's not going to thump with heavy bass but if that's what you're looking for you'd be upgrading the entire system.

Very happy with the Terra Acoustics speaker upgrade. Once broken in, there was a noticeable improvement in volume, mid range and treble. I have a 2 door with the standard audio system, no Alpine sub. My next victim is the overhead sound bar!
