I’ve got a 2 week old 2024 Sport S 4xe with a soft top. I tried to remove the soft windows today and noted the back right one was not sliding off easily. I noted that it had halfway come off the track at the top. When I put it back on, it slides alright, but when I hook the latches at the bottom, it pulls the top little track guide off for the first 3-4 inches. Any idea how to fix that?

I tried holding it in place while my wife secured the bottom clip, and it still popped out. It doesn’t harm things while driving, but the window is not secured at the top, is hard to remove, and I worry it’s just going to get worse if not addressed.

I'd just get the window replaced under warranty. This isn't normal behavior and if the track is already doing this, then it's likely only going to get worse over time. Two summers worth of daily up and down on my top so far and no sign of the tracks weakening their grip.

I recently had this problem on my 2024. For me, I eventually found it to be this:

Over the rear window panels, there is a crossbar in the soft top that runs from driver to passenger side. The top itself (the canvas material) is attached to that crossbar. However, although attached, the top has some room to slide a bit in the direction away from the side panel window you are trying to install and towards the center of car. A little tug on the top to get it to slide the final inch towards the side of the car and side window panel, and voila. Suddenly my side window fits perfectly again, and it doesn’t pull out of the c-channel. For me, none of this was apparent at all until I gave the top that tug at the right spot, and then it all made sense.

Big picture, my window was fine. But my top was a bit misaligned, causing the window to not fit properly and therefore pullaway from the c-channel.

I think you replied in the other thread. This worked, although I also combined it with molding the C channel to be a little tighter using a hairdryer as well as keeping the front of the top slightly up while putting the windows on to decrease tension.

My 2022 does the same thing on the driver's side. I'll try the fix referenced above on the 2024 top.

Good luck. Mine hasn't had any issues since I pulled it over a little bit. That actually looks a little different than mine, as the side windows don't have that white pointed guide. I only see that on the rear window.

YEESSSS! This tip solved the issue for me. The fabric that runs across the bow was pulled up and away from the edge. Just pulling it past where the release button was took the tension off and the window channel didn't pull away. Thanks so much!

I'm having the same trouble. Passenger side window keeps coming off the track. I cannot visualize this advice in my head. Do you have any pics of the "bow" and the area where I need to tug?
Thx!

Newbie 2D JL owner with same soft top dilemma. To remedy, I'm pulling upper fabric wrapped around crossbar towards the side where window is coming of track, correct?

Same issue here, 2024 four-door.

The main difference I've noticed on mine is that, in addition to being flexed a little open, the end of the C channel seems to have a nick on the lower outside that would make it more prone to this kind of stress and also some lightening of the plastic on the inside indicating that the plastic has indeed been stressed.

All that said, the soft top fabric was shifted all the way over on the bow and centering it seems to have essentially resolved the problem. The bead still does seem a little loose in the C channel at the front end, but at least it's in the track.

Update:

The fix is to get a new window. Dealer warrantied window and it is perfect. No more falling off. I tried everything but never got it to work. Save time and get a new window.
