Thanks for connecting with us. As customer care specialists, we rely heavily on the determination of our dealers. Saying this, I would like to escalate your concern but I wouldn't be able to speculate on whether or not the outcome will change. Can you send me your VIN along with your current mileage?

Useless because you didn't send them your VIN so they could escalate it? Looks to me like they're trying to help.

I don't have a soft top, but I can't help but speculate. It looks to me like you drive with the top down more than you do up, and do a fair bit of dusty off-roading. Could that have anything to do with the accelerated wear & tear? You also mention you've already got 20,000(!) miles on your Jeep? No wonder there's been some rubbing!

So if you buy a soft top you can't use it all spring and summer without being worried of holes? Is there a warranty on how many miles or how many times you are allowed to lift the top and lower it? So you think a soft top that start falling apart long ago should not be covered because I use it too much???? Dust? I live in GA. GA red clay was horrible at jeepfest! Excuse me for not being a mall crawler. I though jeep could go off roads.

Did you send JeepCares your VIN so they can get involved? If not, you just yelling here solves nothing.

I agree that this looks like it should be covered, and is not from inappropriate use.

Yes, jeepcares has my VIN number and more info. BUT said they usually side with dealership. Guess I'll wait for another response.

Fine, dirt. Whatever you want to call it.

Everything in life has an expiry date, even soft tops. Whether or not it's covered isn't up to me, but I would argue that having the top in the down position all the time is definitely going to be the cause of the wear, wouldn't you agree?

I suggest you send JeepCares your VIN so they can actually help you. Best of luck.

Factory warranty on the top is 3/36... whether it's up or down is irrelevant, as it's intended to be driven in both configurations. Your comment that it was caused by her driving it with the top down more than up is absurd.

Just remember the warranty covers *defects,* from the factory not damage from misuse or abuse. That's a tough one to prove, and it's an uphill battle. I hope the OP wins out though.

I'm not blaming anybody or saying the OP caused the damage. But my implication is that there's inherently going to be more wear from the top rubbing against the frame in the down position. That's not absurd, it's just common sense, especially when you add in the environmental elements.

Glad you sent your VIN, hopefully they help, as it's clearly a warranty claim as mentioned above. Good luck.

If the top can't stay in the down position for 36k miles without tearing, that's a *defect*. Your implication was that the OP caused the issues by driving her Jeep with the top down too much. That's absurd.

What are you talking about?? Putting the top up and down or leaving it down most of the time is not misuse or abuse.

If you can get them to agree it’s a defect, I’d see if you can get a premium top for a replacement (you pay the difference). Premium top doesn’t wear like that...
