In a weak moment late last night I bought another drone. Already have a Mavic 2pro but pushed the button for a mini4pro.

I like the idea of not needing to use my iPhone as the screen/controller and also the smaller unit and accessories for easy stow and travel. I’m also hoping that because of these two reasons I will use it more! The obstacle avoidance is supposed to be improved as well. We shall see…

I have a fleet of DJI drones at home going back to the first Phantom. The obstacle avoidance is top notch on the Mini 4 and the new remote with the screen is outstanding.
Hope you enjoy using it as much as I do.

Good to hear… yeah this will be my third. I gave my first one, a Phantom 3 or maybe it was a 2 to my son. Was supposed to arrive on Wednesday. Just got notice it is arriving on Monday… wow! A Saturday almost midnight purchase. Still blows me away how Amazon does it.

My WeatherTech mats bought direct Jan 7 and shipped Jan 8, are stuck somewhere in Utah mid route. It’s Jan 21st… Com’n FEDEX!

I manufacture UAVs for industrial inspection.

For my own stuff I just use a DJI Mavic 2 Pro. All of the smaller DJI’s are quick and easy to use, safe, and image quality is good enough for Youtube.

Pretty cool. It would be exiting field to be in.

The drone? No way. Look at everything it does, the specs on the camera and the flight time.
Are there cheaper alternatives? Of course. Do those alternatives perform as well as the Mini 4 Pro? They do not.
well, you just answered the 392 question, does it do it well:)

The Mini 4 Pro does everything it’s designed to do and does so very well.
I’ve had zero issues with it. I had it unboxed, charged, updated and in the air in an afternoon. I flew manually, I used the preprogrammed “Master Shots” and tried out all the gee-whiz tracking options. Each option performed as it should.

The screen on the controller is bright and very usable. There’s almost too much telemetry displayed to make use of. But I do find myself referring to most all of it at during flights.

@AZ Hella asked for recommendations and the Mini 4 is the only one I’d recommend for someone looking to jump into using a drone. If the cost seems prohibitive, fly one and then fly one of the less expensive drones. You’ll quickly understand the difference between a good, operational piece of equipment and a sketchy, kinda-okay piece of equipment.

I got my first drone this year. My wife, brother in law, and sister in law chipped in and got me the DJI Mini 3 bundle from Costco, after I explicitly told her not to get me anything. Well, I HAD to return it and then spend the extra money on the Mini 4 Pro Fly More with RC2. I went from it costing me $200, to it costing me $900, not what I really wanted to spend after I bought her an Xtool laser cutter but whatever I guess.

it’s awesome. I flew it at night over our subdivision and it was really cool to see the area from above at night. I work for local government and I flew it in our city hall building and almost shredded my face. That would have been an interesting story to tell.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Mini 4 Pro with RC2 and the Fly More Plus. I wish I bought the plus batteries.

Also, if anyone is around Denverish area and got some new photo or video equipment from Santa, we’re doing a picture and video run this coming Saturday, probably Switzerland or Yankee as those are always open and easy snow runs. Feel free to reach out and come play!

Whatever you do, don't get an EXO. They're priced similar to DJI and AUTEL but they're garbage. Go with Autel or DJI and you'll be fine.

My first drone was a Phantom2. Decided one day to go for a flight and watched it take off, I elevated up almost 100 feet and the battery decided to shit on me. I watched it drop from the sky only to land right where it took off from. Fast forward to Christmas that just passed and a Mini3 came along. What is so great about it compared to my Phantom? Everything. Size alone, the Mini3 all folded up and bundled into the nice padded carry case that is holding the drone, remote, charger and 3 batteries is about the size of the remote to the Phantom alone. Now I have multiple batteries to keep flying too. The picture/video quality is way beyond anything I'll ever need.

I had a Phantom battery discharge on me over the water. The lights flashed a couple of times and it dropped like a rock right into a bay…. a saltwater bay. Lol
