I suck at Drones. Anyone else using one while offroading?

I fly a Ruko F11 Pro 2. A very good “budget” drone. It does not have obstacle avoidance; I did tons of research on that. Obstacle avoidance works well with large, solid obstacles - not tree branches.

I haven’t tried “follow me” while driving yet. When I do, if I am alone, I will set the altitude to avoid collisions. If I’m with someone else, I will teach them on flying it first, and have them maintain the altitude.

Even if I am alone and the altitude is set to a safe level, the resolution is so good you can zoom-in during editing to make it appear lower.
When you get to the point where you fly a drone to make money and do it professionally with professional results you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $30,000 for a high quality DJI drone. You get out of it what you pay for it. I would post examples but this forum does not allow that amount of upload space.

No... you have to set the height when you start and it will maintain that height. I usually set it for above the tree lines and then I come in close in post edit.
Just manually adjust? I did that before and it stayed for a minute but then took off to the normal altitude again.

Understood, sir. I was posting for us common folks who aren’t doing it professionally.

I'm assuming you have a follow me or active tracking of some sort. Once you do that for a while, you'll get to a point to where you will want manual footage. I got here once I realized for many parts, I didn't like the panning left and right by active tracking.

Now I have a cupholder (similar to the picture below) that has a platform and placed 2 velcro strips onto.... and the other side to the drone controller to hold in place. It can be done under some conditions/scenarios while driving. all the rushing to another location can be edited out later.

Rig is at the shop right now or I'd just snap a pic of the interior.

That's a good idea. Better than just sitting on my lap. I need the RC2 Controller first.
