If you go to the ARB USA website, we get to see that two separate numbers are listed:

Working Load: 19,841 lbs
Breaking Strength: 38,580lbs
(safety factor of two)

https://arbusa.com/recovery/recovery-straps-and-accessories/

It has a synthetic block, which suggests it was designed for use with synthetic rather than steel winch cable, but that's just my uninformed take on it.

And it "only" weighs about 6 lbs. Anyhow, I'd have no problems purchasing that and carrying that as part of my kit.

Like many others thought, I've switched to carrying synthetic shackles coupled with aluminum "wheel style" snatch blocks. Lighter and less bulky.

For me it's basically coming down to; avoiding incoming shrapnel! I was always wary of the steel cable breaking and gashing someone in the face, I ditched it after using a brand new cable 2 (mild) times. The 3rd time, one tiny, little thread of frayed cable cut my hand through a leather glove like a razor blade, never again! I pulled that rascal off and threw it in the trash!

After careful consideration I'm going with factor 55 synthetic RRP and soft shackle.

Thank you everyone for your advice and input, I really appreciate it. This is why I asked before purchasing. Be safe and happy trails.

I've been impressed with Robert Pepper's many videos on snatch blocks and recovery techniques. They should work in the northern hemisphere as well, you just have the turn them right side up instead of upside down.

Personally, I'd opt for a snatch pulley vs a traditional snatch block.
The video for this ARB pulley says the tapered design prevents pinching. I've never used one.

Just watched it up to that point. He used the wrong term, calling a radius a taper. When I say taper, I'm referring to a "V" taper, which would pinch and deform the round rope rather than cradling it like a radius cut pulley.

I’m thinking of moving from my Warn Snatch Block to a Factor 55 pulley. $115 on Amazon and only $3 less than the Warn. Would love to recover 75 to 80% of the cost of my never been used Warn.

I've done at least 20 recovers with this 66,000 snatch ring. I've got two in each of my Rubicons. I've got a heavy snatch block under the seat. Snatch blocks are heavy missiles in the back of your Jeep.

With 2 snatch rings you can easily get 3:1 or 4:1 using a Spanish Burton rigging. SB rigging requires an extra winch rope.
