Is there really enough room for the SOT to slide underneath?
Not even close. lol I pulled the fuse to the top. While rack is on no top. I hate this damn top anyway. Lol

I've had a lot of time to look at SOT compatible racks while waiting for my 24. The leading contenders (Gobi, ARS, LOD) for high capacity (e.g., RTT) all seem to take the exoskeleton approach which makes sense given the giant hole in the roof.

Other than tube diameter, the main difference seems to be drill vs. no drill installation. Gobi requires no drilling but has smaller tube and reports of body damage (of which I have only seen one with evidence). ARS uses larger tube but requires drilling and trimming, same for LOD. Varying reports of wind noise for all of them so just expect it to be there regardless.

If high load capacity isn't a concern then the gutter mount options seems to be plentiful.

Exposed Racks supposedly has gutter mounts that clear the SOT but I haven't been able to find much info on them yet. I think Yakima has some as well.

My wife had to have the SOT as well but I got to choose the ecodiesel. We installed the Vector offroad shelf in the back and bought the American Adventure Labs STP (spare tire platform). The two combined really help with cargo management when we go camping, Even with a dog taking up the back seat.

Haters will say I’m wrong or it’s photoshopped.

WELL WE DID IT!!! Proved it to be true, We have added an RTT with the DEEZEE roof rack and its SOLID on the sky one touch.

NO YOU CANT OPEN THE TOP ( NO I DONT CARE, I PULLED THE FUSE )

When the time comes to remove the RTT i'll reclaim my roof and that is super good with me. I tested as close to max static weight as i could. I put my butt up there 275, then had my dad get up there 330. so we had 575LB's of static weight not including the 165 for the RTT so 670lbs!!! not even indentations in the feet of the rack and the gutter mounts holding perfectly.

I did some hard core overlanding and slept in it last night in the driveway. its super solid, no creeks and cracks, no fear or feelings of instability. Time will tell but im not disappointed.

Here's some of the photos we shot. I'll be doing a big review video since I purchased two of these, two deezee roof racks and one is on a hard top the other on this SOT.

This is my Pops chilling on top of the SOT roof with my new TOPOAK TENT! Hes 6'2" 330lbs (REVIEW INBOUND FOR THIS TENT )

500mi roadtrip. Both running Deezee racks. One on SOT one on hardtop both performed extremely well. For the person that wants to take their tent off and on frequently this isn’t a bad option. I don’t know that I would go full rock smashing with it but your average overlanding it’s perfect. 9 nights so far in this and it’s solid.

i will be going to an adventure rack for the Jeep in the next few weeks. I want to be able to still do the harder obstacles without worrying about the rack

this will work for 80% of folks though!

I noticed with this rack there is a front section where there are two more gutter guard mounts. Do you think if one were to use them in conjunction with the mounts that you have and use 4 per side or say 3 per side add one more that it would add any more rigidity to the structure? Or is that not possible? I think this is really wonderful, I think we are going to pursue this route.

It’s possible if you wanted to go down that route, but it’s definitely not necessary. Now having this for over a month, I will say this is great for County Road Overlanding but not for any rocklanding or crawling with anything that was slam your jeep. It’s going to be perfect for my dad, but I’m gonna switch to an adventure rack system.

Hopefully that’s helpful

Heads-up that swapping out windshields is quite a bit more challenging with an ARS exoskeleton. Yes, it's an awesome roof rack, but be warned.
