So I was going through FB Marketplace and saw a sleeping platform for a 4 Runner. Clicked on it and the guy said he can build one for any vehicle. So I hit him up and we met last Friday. After going back on Sunday for some test fitting, he went back to work and it was done on Monday. It came out exactly how I planned it in my mind. I had another companies sleep system and the wood was so thin. Less than 1/2 with a drawer which I didn't want. We used 3/4" and it's not very heavy. I wanted to keep the 60% rear seat since I removed the 40% so my dog can get in and out easier. I also wanted it to be modular. We used turnbuckles to hold the rear platform down. I'm not 100% positive this will work since I can't get a wrench on them to tighten. I wanted the sleep platform to be stored under the rear cargo and these are wedged tight so no rattling. I also wanted a flat surface for my dog and I. My previous setup was just a 3" dog bed to level the rear some and a foam roller in the trench with a deep sleep solo mat. I'm really happy with how it came out and my dog has so much more room to spread out as opposed to when he slept on floor on 40% side. I will probably get a shorter fridge and another solo mat for whenever a chick is with me. Hope this gives others ideas.
