Any recommendations on where to stay in St. George and Moab?
both have a ton of hotels. if on a budget Moab adventure Inn has always been clean and nice. mainstay suites has been great there. We have not had a bad stay in Moab and lost count of the times there. I started going to mountain bike there in the early 80's. If you camp sandflats is great.

Yes, with XR package.
you can do most of the trails except BFE with your set up. we had a 2wd drive Toyota tacoma tag along with us on Hells revenge and he actually followed us through tip over challenge and we thought he literally was going to tip over but he did not.

Big horn lodge on the budget side. Moab Springs Ranch on the spendy side.

No matter what, don't stay in the Ramada in La Verkin (North of Hurricane).

Can you still get to Gemini Bridges? I had read that was part of the Moab trail closures. :(

I did Hells and Fins in the same day. Was a long day but totally doable.

The one we started but didn't finish was the back way into Arches NP which I believe is Willow Springs Road. Was supposed to be a nice easy drive and we took a bit of a detour to an obstacle and had to turn around because the sun was setting.
I read on Trails Offroad that Gemini is still open. It's really a major access road to the back country.

We stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham on the south end of town. Clean, modern, good parking, free early breakfast buffet. Looks more like a place geared for business travelers, but had a lot of off-roaders.

Oh one more rec for staying in Moab that I totally forgot about.

https://www.undercanvas.com/camps/moab/

It was pricey but 100% worth it.
We have stayed at Under Canvas in Big Water (near Lake Mead) and near Zion NP. Both were great experiences for what they are. It's 5-star camping more or less. They do have great customer service as well. I'd recommend it for sure. Wife debated on staying there or Hampton Inn, but Hampton Inn won out due to loyalty perks/points.

Also, Gemini Bridges is open as well. Not sure how far back, but at least to Gold Bar Rim area and I suspect much farther.

Seven Mile Rim is rated a 4 and is a decent trail for views that’s not terribly difficult that a stock XR can handle. It has a few spots that can make an inexperienced off roader without a spotter/friend get nervous though. Chicken Corners, Onion Creek, Gemini Bridges and a few others are good starter trails. Fins and Things is a great way to test yourself and your rig without going too far away from civilization if something happens. Hells Revenge got me more comfortable with off camber situations than I ever was before but it’s still not a trail to take lightly. There’s plenty of people that find that out the hard way every year.

So many choices! Long Canyon, and Gemini bridges are very scenic as are parts of the White Rim road and Shafer Canyon.

Fins and Things and Hells Revenge are nearly in town, and are perfect for you XR. You can do them together

Much more of a time commitment, but your XR will hand Top of the World. It is a bit out of town, but the view point at the top is pretty amazing

We will be staying at the Red Lion in St George overnight, then staying at the My Place Hotel in Moab for 5 days, back to the Red Lion overnight, and finally back home. Going the last week in August with my wife and a couple other Jeepers. Our plans are Fins n Things, Hells Revenge, Poison Spider, Top of the World, and Elephant Hill. Those seem to be some of the trails you can’t get in trouble with if you’ve done a little wheeling before. I’m sure a couple trails will be doable on the same day which will be good because I’m trying to hit the golf course out there too ?

Which trail would be recommend to do first if you had a limited time there?
I’m a fan of 7mile rim. It’s a 4, and your XR won’t even flinch at it (I did it stock in mine and had zero issues). Download a mapping app like Trailsoffroad, OnX or something and pre-load the route. There’s even a pretty nice arch in there.

ToW is a good bit north, but you could probably swing that and Poison. Poison is really an in and out if you don't run the "Trifecta" so you can turn around early if necessary.

Highly recommend Metal Masher in that difficulty range. You drive along the cliff overlooking Moab for a good bit.

I’ve looked at MM, just not convinced my wife would be willing to take that route considering she will have roughly only 4k miles on her 24 Willys by the time we get out there ?

She gets freaked out by the names of the trails haha
