Moab Trip

Took my first trip to Moab a couple weeks ago and it was a dream trip. Hired Robert Mick from Dan Mick's Jeep Tours to guide me on Fins and that was a great experience in itself, since he was there from the start of wheeling in Moab. Learned so much. Ran the north loop with him, and then ran the south loop on my own twice. Also did the Onion Creek trail (they were filming some movie out there), Gemini Bridges, La Sol mountains, Arches NP, and took a day trip to the four corners and Telluride. Stopped at Moab Motorsports and met Rory too, super nice guy.

I just got back a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Absolutely loved it! Wife and I are already planning another trip next year.

Dan Mick’s operation there is phenomenal. His son Richard spotted us through Fins and Things, Hell’s Revenge, Poison Spider, some of Golden Spike and Gold Bar Rim.

Even for those experienced with their rigs on difficult trails, I highly recommend them for anyone’s first Moab trip. They’ll keep you on the right line for everything, and have you doing obstacles you may not otherwise attempt on your own, or with less competent spotting.

Ex: I would have never had the confidence to do Hell’s Gate my first time without someone that knowledgeable keeping me on a good line.

FYI, guessing you saw Horizon filming, Costner's current movie. When we were here in July we had a bar conversation with a guy that said Costner's crew had the Red Cliff Lodge booked out for a couple months.

Unfortunately this means my wife will want to stalk him while we're here.

They were out by Onion Creek when I was there last month. That's quite an operation.
